Two very different announcements point to how technology is changing in India. L&T Technology Services (LTTS) has signed a five-year agreement with Nokia to support engineering and research work. Airtel, meanwhile, has added YouTube Premium to its Rs. 200 prepaid data pack, which also includes access to several streaming services.

One deal concerns the teams building telecom products. The other is aimed at mobile users who want data and entertainment in a single recharge.

LTTS and Nokia sign a five-year R&D agreement

LTTS announced on October 26, 2026, that it will support Nokia’s engineering and research and development work in India. The agreement covers areas such as software development, product engineering, system integration and ongoing product support.

LTTS also plans to set up a dedicated development centre in India and build a team to work with Nokia’s global research groups. The work is expected to touch 5G networks, automated network operations and AI-related infrastructure.

In everyday terms, LTTS will provide engineering support as Nokia develops and maintains telecom technology. The deal also reflects India’s role in global product development: work carried out by local teams can support products and networks used in many markets.

The announcement does not disclose the contract’s financial value or how many people will work on it. Its impact will depend on the work LTTS takes on and how the two companies put the arrangement into practice.

Airtel adds YouTube Premium to its Rs. 200 pack

Airtel’s Rs. 200 prepaid pack offers 30GB of data for 28 days, along with access to OTT services. Recent reports say the pack now also includes YouTube Premium. Airtel’s recharge page lists the Rs. 200 option with Prime Video Mobile Edition; the exact bundle and availability can vary, so customers should check the Airtel Thanks app before recharging.

The pack is a data add-on, rather than a full plan with calling and SMS benefits. In practical terms, it may suit someone who already has an active prepaid plan and wants extra data plus streaming access for the month. A user who mainly needs calls or a longer validity period may need a different recharge.

The offer enters a crowded market where operators such as Jio and Vodafone Idea also compete with prepaid data and entertainment bundles. Whether Airtel’s pack is good value depends on which included services a customer actually uses.

Telecom plan benefits and availability can change and may vary by customer or location. Confirm the current terms in the Airtel Thanks app before recharging. This article is for general information.
