Oura Ring 5 Launches in India with AI Health Features and Blood Pressure Signals, Exploring The Device

Oura has launched the Oura Ring 5 in India, bringing its latest screen-free health wearable to the premium smart-ring market. The new ring tracks sleep, activity, stress and recovery, while adding features such as Health Radar, Blood Pressure Signals and nighttime breathing insights.

The biggest point to understand is this – the ring does not replace a medical blood-pressure monitor. Its Blood Pressure Signals feature looks for patterns in nighttime data that may deserve attention. It does not provide a standard blood-pressure reading such as 120/80 mmHg.

Oura Ring 5 price and availability in India

The Oura Ring 5 starts at Rs. 39,900 in Silver and Black finishes. Gold, Deep Rose, Stealth and Brushed Silver versions cost Rs. 50,900.

It is available in sizes 6 to 13 and comes with a charger matched to the selected ring size. Buyers can pre-order it through Amazon and Croma stores. Oura Membership costs Rs. 599 per month and unlocks deeper app-based health insights.

Smaller titanium design with upgraded sensors

Oura says the Ring 5 is 40 percent smaller in volume than the Oura Ring 4. It uses a titanium body, has low-profile sensor domes and is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance. The ring is also water resistant up to 100 metres.

The company has updated the sensing system with stronger LEDs and 12 signal pathways. These are designed to improve data collection across different finger shapes and skin tones.

Battery life is rated at up to nine days, though actual backup will vary by ring size and usage.

How Blood Pressure Signals works

Blood Pressure Signals is part of Oura’s Health Radar system. It examines patterns in nighttime ring data over 30-day periods and alerts users only when it identifies a pattern that may be worth reviewing.

This is different from a blood-pressure cuff. The ring does not diagnose hypertension and does not substitute for a doctor’s advice or a validated upper-arm monitor.

Oura allows users to log readings from a blood-pressure cuff manually or import them through Apple Health or Android Health Connect. The company recommends using a validated upper-arm cuff for the most accurate readings.

A practical example – if the app notices an unusual long-term pattern in a user’s nighttime signals, it may encourage that person to check their blood pressure with a proper cuff and discuss the results with a qualified clinician if needed.

Other health and AI features

The Oura Ring 5 tracks sleep, activity, stress, recovery, heart-rate trends, blood-oxygen levels and body-temperature patterns. New features include Live Activity Tracking, which shows workout data in real time through the Oura app.

Health Radar also includes Nighttime Breathing, offering a 30-day view of breathing disturbances during sleep. The app’s Advisor AI is designed to turn wearable data into more personalized wellness guidance.

Other additions include Oura Health Records, which combines selected clinical health information with ring data, and a Locate feature for finding a misplaced ring or charging case.

Competitors and buying view

The Oura Ring 5 competes with premium smart rings such as the Ultrahuman Ring Air and Samsung Galaxy Ring. Oura’s strengths are its detailed sleep and recovery insights, but its starting price and monthly membership make it an expensive option.

It may suit people who want passive health tracking without wearing a smartwatch. Buyers looking for medical-grade blood-pressure monitoring should still use a validated cuff and seek professional advice when necessary.
