Mercedes-Benz is preparing to bring the GLC Electric to India, and this could be one of the most important luxury EV launches of 2026. As per recent reports, bookings for the Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric will open in the first week of October 2026, while the India launch is expected by the end of 2026.
The big talking point is local assembly. This may help Mercedes-Benz price the SUV more sensibly for India, compared with a fully imported model. For buyers who like the regular GLC but want an electric version, this new SUV could feel like a natural upgrade.
What makes the GLC Electric special
The India-spec Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric is expected to arrive in the GLC 400 4MATIC version. It gets a 94kWh battery pack and dual electric motors, which means power goes to all four wheels.
Mercedes-Benz claims a WLTP range of up to 715 km. In real Indian use, the range will depend on traffic, weather, speed and driving style, but even then, this should be enough for city driving and weekend highway trips.
