Fresh capital is flowing into some very different parts of India’s technology economy. A cargo-aircraft startup, a small-business lender, an AI research platform and a merchant-payments company have all announced important funding developments.

The common thread is practical technology. These businesses are trying to improve how goods move, how small firms get credit, how products are tested and how merchants accept payments.

LogiXair aims to move cargo through the air

Hyderabad-based LogiXair has received investment from GrowthCap Ventures as per Business Standard, along with angel investors with aerospace backgrounds. The investment amount was not disclosed.

LogiXair was founded in 2021 by Bhanu Teja Chidura and Pulla Kapil. It is building autonomous hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft for cargo transport. VTOL means vertical take-off and landing, so the aircraft is designed to take off and land without a conventional runway.

Its planned L560 cargo aircraft is designed to carry up to 300 kg over a distance of up to 600 km. The long-term idea is to create a new cargo layer between road transport and conventional air freight.

For example, a time-sensitive medical shipment or industrial part could potentially move between a metro and a smaller city faster than by road. The fresh capital will support engineering, technology validation and commercialization. LogiXair may eventually compete with cargo-drone developers, traditional logistics companies and express-air freight providers.

Vegafin raises $106 million for MSME lending

Vegafin Capital has raised Rs. 1,000 crore, or about $106 million, in an investment led by Premji Invest, Azim Premji’s family office. Norwest and Lok Capital also participated as per Moneycontrol.

The company is founded and promoted by former ICICI Bank executive Bijith Bhaskar. Vegafin plans to use the investment to build an AI-first lending platform for micro, small and medium enterprises, commonly called MSMEs.

The deal also includes the acquisition of a majority stake in Bizloan, a Gurugram-based non-banking financial company focused on secured MSME loans. This gives Vegafin an existing lending base and physical distribution network.

AI-based lending does not mean loans will be approved automatically without checks. It means technology can help lenders assess business data, identify risk and process applications faster. Vegafin will compete with digital lenders, traditional NBFCs and bank-led small-business loan products.

Vectorial wants to test products with simulated audiences

San Francisco-based Vectorial has raised $3 million in seed funding from investors including Smilegate and SenseAI Ventures as per SovereignMagazine. The company was founded by Taranveer Singh, Jasmine Kaur and Rahul Garg.

Vectorial builds AI-generated “synthetic users” to help product, design and marketing teams test an idea before showing it to real customers. Its SAPIENS model uses behavioural data to simulate how a target audience may respond to a new feature, campaign or customer-facing AI tool.

For instance, a company planning a new shopping-app screen could test possible user reactions before spending heavily on development. This can speed up early research, but it cannot fully replace interviews and feedback from real people.

The new funding will help Vectorial expand its behavioural data partnerships and develop SAPIENS 2.0. Its rivals include traditional user-research agencies, survey platforms and emerging AI research tools.

Pine Labs strengthens its payments subsidiary Synergistic Financial Networks

As per EquityBulls, Pine Labs has invested nearly Rs. 25 crore in Synergistic Financial Networks through a rights issue. Synergistic Financial Networks, also known through its Mosambee payments business, was incorporated in 2008 by Alok Arora, Bhushan Thaker and Sameer Chugh.

This is not an outside fundraising round. Synergistic Financial Networks is already a wholly owned Pine Labs subsidiary, so the investment does not change ownership.

The money will support working-capital needs, growth opportunities and investments in step-down subsidiaries. Mosambee provides merchant payment infrastructure, helping businesses accept card, UPI, QR and other payment methods. Its major competitors include payment providers such as Paytm, BharatPe and PhonePe’s merchant business.
