OORJAA Raises Series A Funding to Make City Logistics Faster, Smarter and More Predictable

Mumbai-based logistics startup OORJAA has raised Rs. 9.7 crore in the first close of its Series A funding round. The round was led by Equentis Angel Fund, with participation from Inflection Point Ventures.

The company is using technology to solve a problem many businesses face every day which is that how to move goods inside cities quickly, reliably and at the right cost. This matters even more now, as quick commerce, e-commerce, food delivery and retail brands depend heavily on smooth mid-mile and last-mile delivery.

What OORJAA does

OORJAA is a technology-led B2B logistics platform. It helps companies move products across cities through a mix of hubs, vehicles, manpower and software.

In simple words, OORJAA manages the messy part of urban logistics. This includes planning routes, tracking shipments, managing delivery partners, handling orders and improving delivery speed.

For example, a grocery company may need thousands of products moved from a warehouse to dark stores and then to customers. If routes are poorly planned, vehicles run half-empty or delivery teams are not coordinated, costs rise quickly. OORJAA’s model is built to reduce that waste.

Founder and founding year

OORJAA was founded in 2019 by Sandeep Patil, Prashant Mohite, Yogesh Parab and Umesh Singh.

The company operates across more than 200 cities in India. It serves enterprise clients including Zepto, Blinkit, Amazon and Swiggy, according to recent reports.

Aim of the startup

OORJAA’s main aim is to make logistics more outcome-driven. That means customers pay based on actual delivery volume or results, instead of simply paying for trucks, people or fixed assets.

This is useful for businesses because demand is not always stable. A brand may need more deliveries during festivals, sales, weekends or month-end periods. A flexible logistics partner can help manage those spikes without forcing the company to build everything in-house.

OORJAA also follows an asset-light model. This means it does not need to own every truck or warehouse itself. Instead, it combines partner networks with its own technology system.

Purpose of the funding

The fresh capital will be used to strengthen OORJAA’s proprietary AI and SaaS logistics stack called Datashastra.

Datashastra supports features such as control-tower visibility, automation, route planning and operational decision-making. A control tower in logistics is like a central dashboard where teams can see what is moving, where delays are happening and what needs attention.

OORJAA also plans to expand its mid-mile and last-mile network into more cities and categories. The company wants to take Datashastra to international markets as well, starting with the GCC region.

Part of the funding will also go into hiring across technology, operations and enterprise sales. The company also plans to deploy more EVs in dense urban areas to bring down costs and emissions.

Competitors in the market

OORJAA competes with logistics and freight-tech companies such as BlackBuck, Porter, Vahak, LoadShare, Shadowfax, Delhivery and Ecom Express, depending on the use case.

Its edge may come from combining physical logistics operations with a software platform that can also be licensed separately. If this SaaS model grows, OORJAA can earn from technology as well as delivery operations.

Conclusion – Key takeaways

OORJAA’s Series A funding shows that investors still see strong opportunity in India’s logistics technology market.

The startup wants to make city logistics more efficient through AI, automation and better delivery planning. The funding will help it improve Datashastra, expand into more locations, enter new categories and grow internationally.

For businesses that depend on fast delivery, platforms like OORJAA can make daily operations smoother and more predictable.
