Lava Shark 2 Pro 5G and Poco C95 Pro Bring Big Batteries to Budget Smartphones, Lets Explore the Features

Budget smartphone buyers now expect more than basic calling and messaging. Large batteries, smooth displays and 5G support have become important selling points.

Two new phones show how brands are targeting this demand in different ways. Lava has launched the Shark 2 Pro 5G in India, while Poco has introduced the C95 Pro in global markets with an unusually large 7,500mAh battery.

Lava Shark 2 Pro 5G price and features

The Lava Shark 2 Pro 5G is priced at Rs. 16,699 in India. It comes in one configuration with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The phone is available in Akash Blue and Nanda Silver colours through Lava-authorized online and offline retailers.

The phone has a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This should make scrolling, app navigation and supported games feel smoother. However, the 720p resolution is lower than the Full HD+ panels found on some competing phones.

The device uses the Unisoc T8200 processor and runs a clean version of Android 16. Lava promises one major Android update and two years of security updates. It also includes Vayu AI, the company’s own AI chatbot.

For photography, the phone has a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie camera. It supports Dual-View Video, allowing users to record from the front and rear cameras together. The phone can record video at up to 2K resolution at 30 frames per second.

Its 6,000mAh battery is designed for long daily use, but charging is limited to 18W. The phone also has IP64 dust and splash protection, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C, Bluetooth 5.4 and 5G connectivity.

Lava is also offering free doorstep phone service across India, which could appeal to buyers who prefer local support.

Poco C95 Pro global launch and specifications

The Poco C95 Pro has launched globally with a starting price reported at around S$169 in Singapore and approximately EUR 220 in some markets. Prices and storage options may differ by country. Poco has not confirmed an India launch at the time of writing.

The phone’s biggest highlight is its 7,500mAh battery. It supports 45W turbo charging and up to 22.5W wired reverse charging. This means it can also provide power to compatible accessories or another phone.

The C95 Pro features a 6.9-inch HD+ display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It also gets Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, up to 825 nits of high-brightness mode and a touch sampling rate of up to 240Hz.

The device is powered by the MediaTek Helio G91-Ultra chipset. It is available with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage or 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. A microSD card can expand storage by up to 2TB.

The camera setup includes a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. Other features include HyperOS 3, IP64 protection, NFC in selected markets, Bluetooth 5.4, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

How the two phones are different

The Lava Shark 2 Pro 5G is the better choice for buyers who want 5G connectivity, cleaner Android software and a phone officially available in India.

The Poco C95 Pro is aimed at users who care most about battery life, faster charging and a larger storage option. Its 7,500mAh cell is much bigger than the Lava phone’s battery, but the Poco is a 4G device.

Both phones use HD+ LCD screens, so users who want sharper text, AMOLED colours or advanced gaming performance may need to consider more expensive alternatives from Redmi, Realme, Infinix and Motorola.

Conclusion with key takeaways

The Lava Shark 2 Pro 5G focuses on affordable 5G connectivity, clean software and local service support at Rs. 16,699. The Poco C95 Pro takes a different route with its 7,500mAh battery, 45W charging and up to 256GB storage.

For Indian buyers, the Lava model is the more practical option because it is officially available locally. Poco’s C95 Pro is more attractive for international users who want maximum battery life, but its India availability remains unconfirmed.
