HomeRun, a Bengaluru-based quick commerce startup for construction and interior materials, has raised $12 million, or about Rs. 114 crore, in a Series A+ funding round led by Nexus Venture Partners.

The round also saw participation from existing investors Sorin Investments, Titan Capital, Sparrow Capital, and Consumer Collective by Atrium. The funding comes at a time when quick commerce is moving beyond groceries and food into more specialized business categories.

HomeRun is trying to solve a very practical problem. Construction and renovation work often slows down because one important item is missing. It may be cement, tiles, plywood, wires, waterproofing material, paint, plumbing items, or hardware. A small delay can stop labour, increase cost and disturb the full project schedule.

What HomeRun does

HomeRun delivers construction and home improvement materials quickly to project sites and homes.

The startup claims to deliver products within 60 to 90 minutes. Its product range includes cement, tiles, paints, waterproofing products, wires, plywood and other renovation materials.

This is different from normal ecommerce. A contractor does not always have the luxury to wait two or three days for delivery. If work is happening at a site and material runs out, the need is immediate.

For example, if a tiling team runs out of adhesive in the afternoon, the full team may sit idle until the material arrives. If a plumber needs a specific pipe fitting, the work may stop until someone goes to the market. HomeRun wants to remove this friction.

Founders and founding year

HomeRun was founded in 2024 by Pukhraj Grewal.

Before starting HomeRun, Grewal founded Project Hero in 2021, a labour hiring platform focused on the construction sector. That earlier experience gave him a close view of how fragmented and inefficient construction work can be.

HomeRun appears to be built from that learning. Instead of only solving labour availability, it is now solving material availability and speed.

Why this funding matters

The $12 million funding is important because fast construction delivery needs a strong local operating network.

HomeRun cannot simply run a website and ship products from one warehouse. It needs dark stores, supplier partnerships, local inventory, reliable delivery staff, pricing systems, product quality checks and city-level operations.

The company said the fresh capital will be used to expand into new geographies and invest further in supply chain, technology and category expansion.

This is a capital-heavy business, but the problem is real. In construction, time lost is money lost.

Aim and purpose of HomeRun

HomeRun’s main aim is to make construction material buying faster, more reliable and less stressful.

The construction supply chain in India is still highly local and relationship-driven. Contractors often depend on nearby dealers, phone calls, WhatsApp orders and manual follow-ups. This works, but it can be slow and unpredictable.

HomeRun wants to bring more structure to this process.

Its purpose is not only speed. It also wants to improve availability, quality, product discovery and delivery reliability. If a contractor knows that essential materials can arrive in 60 to 90 minutes, planning becomes easier.

For small builders, interior designers and homeowners, this can reduce dependence on multiple local shops.

Business progress so far

HomeRun has said it has delivered more than 1 lakh orders and grown 8X over the past 12 months.

The company also said it has become the largest retailer in Bengaluru across its top product categories. This shows the startup is not only testing a small idea. It has already found strong demand in its first major market.

The next step will be harder: expanding to more cities while keeping delivery speed and product reliability intact.

New cities and expansion plan

HomeRun currently operates in Bengaluru. With the new funding, it plans to expand into new cities by setting up more dark stores.

Earlier reports mentioned Hyderabad and Pune as likely expansion markets after Bengaluru. These cities make sense because they have active construction, renovation, real estate and interior work.

Expansion will require careful execution. Each city has different suppliers, pricing, local habits, traffic conditions and construction clusters.

Competitors

HomeRun is part of a new construction quick commerce category.

Its direct and indirect competitors include Fixxly, MeltPlan, MasonMart, BuildCrate, HouseHub and traditional building material dealers. It also competes with local hardware shops and supplier networks that already have strong relationships with contractors.

Globally, companies such as RenoRun earlier tried to build fast construction material delivery models in North America. That shows the problem exists in many markets, though execution can be difficult.

In India, HomeRun’s advantage may come from a focused city-level model, quick delivery promise and backing from strong investors.

Conclusion with key takeaways

HomeRun’s $12 million Series A+ round led by Nexus Venture Partners shows that investors are now looking at quick commerce beyond consumer groceries. Construction and renovation materials are a large, fragmented and time-sensitive market.

Founded in 2024 by Pukhraj Grewal, HomeRun wants to bring speed and reliability to construction material delivery. Its success will depend on city-by-city execution, strong supply chains and trust among contractors, interior teams and homeowners.
