Demoverse Raises $600K from Lumikai to Help Shoppers Co-Create Products With AI

Demoverse has raised $600,000 in pre-seed funding led by Lumikai, giving the young AI startup fresh capital to build its consumer co-creation platform. The round is worth roughly Rs. 5 crore, with Lumikai contributing $500,000 through its Pixels pre-seed programme.
The startup is working on a simple but powerful idea – instead of brands guessing what people want, why not let shoppers help shape the product before it is made? This can be especially useful in fashion, where wrong demand planning can lead to unsold stock and heavy discounts.
What Demoverse does
Demoverse was founded by Akshay Mehta in 2026.
The platform allows brands to upload early product concepts. Consumers can then use AI tools to modify those concepts within brand guidelines. The community votes on different versions, and the strongest idea can move closer to production.
For example, a clothing brand may upload a jacket design. Users can suggest changes like a shorter hem, different colour, wider collar or new fabric style. AI creates those variations, and the community responds to them. This gives the brand a clearer signal before spending money on manufacturing.
Startup aim
Demoverse wants to shift brands from user-generated content to what it calls user-generated products. User-generated content means people make posts, videos or reviews about products. User-generated products go one step further, where consumers help create the actual item that may later be sold.
This matters because many brands still depend on surveys, trend reports or small focus groups before launching products. These methods can be slow, costly and sometimes inaccurate. Demoverse wants to make product testing more live, interactive and closer to real customer taste.
Funding purpose
Demoverse will use the fresh funding to turn early trials with Indian consumer brands into paid campaigns. It also plans to expand beyond fashion into areas such as beauty and packaged goods.
The startup’s model also gives consumers a reason to participate. If a user’s design gets selected and commercialized, they can earn royalties. This makes the platform more than a feedback tool. It becomes a shared creation space between brands and their audience.
Why this idea is useful
Fashion and consumer brands often face a difficult question – how much should they produce? Make too little, and they miss demand. Make too much, and unsold stock becomes a loss.
McKinsey and The Business of Fashion estimated that the fashion industry had $70 billion to $140 billion worth of excess inventory in 2023, according to reports cited by StartupTalky and Economic Times. Demoverse is trying to reduce that risk by helping brands understand demand before production.
Competitors and market view
Demoverse sits between AI design tools, consumer research platforms and product-testing software. Its broader competitors may include survey platforms, focus group tools, design collaboration software and AI image-generation tools used by brands.
Its real edge will depend on whether brands get useful demand signals from the platform. If consumers enjoy co-creating and brands can turn those signals into better-selling products, Demoverse could become valuable in fashion and beyond.
