Vivo has launched the Vivo S2 in India, bringing its S-series back to the country with a premium mid-range smartphone focused on design, battery life and camera features.

The phone comes with a 7,050mAh battery, 3D curved AMOLED display, MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo chipset and support for 4K video recording from both front and rear cameras. Vivo is clearly targeting users who want a stylish phone that can last long, look premium and handle daily work smoothly.

The Vivo S2 will go on sale from 11 August 2026 through Vivo India’s online store, Flipkart, Amazon and authorized retail outlets.

Vivo S2 price in India

The Vivo S2 has been launched in two variants.

  • The 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs. 39,999.
  • The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant is priced at Rs. 49,999.

Launch offers include up to 10 percent instant cashback on select bank cards, exchange bonus, up to 15 months no-cost EMI, 40 percent discount on V-Shield screen protection plan, one-year extended warranty and Jio benefits. The Jio offer includes 5TB cloud storage for 18 months and access to Google Gemini Pro.

The phone is available in three colours – Silk White, Sapphire Blue and Regal Bronze.

Display and design

The Vivo S2 features a 6.83-inch 1.5K 3D Curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The display supports HDR10+ and offers up to 3,000 nits peak brightness. In simple words, the screen should look bright, sharp and smooth while watching videos, scrolling social media or playing supported games.

The curved display gives the phone a more premium look. Vivo has also focused on durability, with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, along with MIL-STD-810H durability certification.

That means the phone is built to handle splashes, dust and rougher daily use better than many regular mid-range smartphones.

Performance and processor

The Vivo S2 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo chipset.

This is a 5G processor made for smooth everyday use. It should comfortably handle apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube, Google Maps, UPI payments, video calls and casual gaming.

The phone comes with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 8GB extended RAM. Extended RAM uses part of the phone’s storage to support multitasking when needed. Storage options include 128GB and 256GB.

Vivo has also added a large vapour chamber cooling system. This should help the phone manage heat better during gaming, multitasking or long video sessions.

Camera setup

The Vivo S2 has a dual rear camera setup.

It includes a 50MP Sony main camera and a 2MP secondary camera. The main camera will handle most regular photography, including portraits, daylight shots, social media photos and videos.

On the front, the phone gets a 32MP selfie camera. This should appeal to users who take selfies, attend video calls or create short-form content.

One useful feature is 4K video recording from both the front and rear cameras. This can help vloggers, students, creators and professionals who record videos from both sides of the phone.

Vivo has also added Dual View Video, which lets users record from front and rear cameras together. AI Erase 2.0 is included for removing unwanted objects from photos.

Battery and charging

The 7,050mAh battery is one of the biggest highlights of the Vivo S2.

Most smartphones in this segment still offer around 5,000mAh to 6,000mAh batteries. Vivo’s larger battery should help users who travel often, attend long calls, watch videos, use mobile data heavily or do not want to charge the phone repeatedly.

The phone supports 44W FlashCharge.

Some users may expect faster charging at this price, but Vivo seems to be focusing more on battery capacity and endurance than only charging speed.

Software and AI features

The Vivo S2 runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16.

Vivo has promised three years of Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates. This is useful for buyers who plan to keep the phone for several years.

The phone also includes AI features such as AI Creation, AI Captions, AI Smart Call Assistant, Circle to Search with Google, Google Gemini integration, Private Space and Vivo Office Kit.

These features are useful for daily work. For example, AI Captions can help with videos or calls, Circle to Search makes searching easier, and Vivo Office Kit can help with cross-device productivity.

Who should buy Vivo S2

The Vivo S2 is best for users who want a premium-looking phone with strong battery life and a curved AMOLED display.

It suits working professionals, students, content viewers, social media users and people who take many selfies or videos. The 7,050mAh battery also makes it useful for travellers and users who stay away from chargers for long hours.

If your priorities are design, display, camera features and battery life, the Vivo S2 is worth considering.

Competitors

The Vivo S2 will compete with phones from OnePlus Nord series, iQOO Neo series, Samsung Galaxy A and F series, Motorola Edge series and Xiaomi’s premium mid-range lineup.

Samsung may appeal to buyers who want long software support and brand trust. iQOO may attract gaming-focused users. OnePlus may appeal to people who prefer clean performance and faster charging. Vivo’s strength is its stylish design, curved display, selfie camera, large battery and AI features.
