Samsung Galaxy A27 5G Launches in India With Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and 6 Years of Updates

Samsung has launched the Galaxy A27 5G in India, bringing another mid-range option for buyers who want a phone that can last longer, both in hardware and software. The phone comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 120Hz AMOLED screen and Samsung’s promise of six years of updates. Yesterday, the company has launched Galaxy M47 in India.
This launch matters because the mid-range smartphone market in India is packed with choices. Buyers now expect more than just a good camera or big battery. They want smooth performance, strong security, long software support, reliable service and useful AI features.
The Galaxy A27 5G is Samsung’s answer to that demand. It is not trying to be the cheapest phone in its segment. Instead, it is trying to offer a longer-lasting package for users who do not want to replace their phone every year.
Samsung Galaxy A27 5G price in India
Samsung Galaxy A27 5G has been launched in three variants in India.
- The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model is priced at Rs. 28,999.
- The 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model is priced at Rs. 31,999.
- The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model is priced at Rs. 37,499.
The phone will be available from July 3 through Samsung[dot]com, Samsung Exclusive Stores, partner retail outlets and other online platforms. Buyers can choose from Light Green, Light Pink and Black colour options.
Samsung is also offering a Rs. 3,000 bank or UPI cashback as part of the launch offer. Financing options include zero down payment for up to 15 months through select NBFC partners.
Display and design
The Galaxy A27 5G gets a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with a 120Hz refresh rate. For daily use, this should make scrolling, app switching and video watching feel smoother.
The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+. That is a useful addition because many people keep their phone for three or four years, and stronger glass protection can help reduce everyday damage from small drops or scratches.
The phone has a punch-hole camera design, which gives the front a cleaner look. It also carries an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. This does not make the phone waterproof for swimming or underwater use, but it should handle dust and light splashes better than phones with no rating.
Performance with Snapdragon 6 Gen 3
The biggest hardware highlight is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. This is a 4nm processor, which means it is built to offer better efficiency and performance compared with older mid-range chips.
Samsung has paired the processor with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. In simple terms, this should help the phone open apps faster, handle multitasking better and feel smoother during daily use.
For most users, this setup should be good enough for WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube, Google Maps, video calls, online payments and casual gaming. Heavy gamers should still wait for real-world reviews, but the chipset upgrade is a positive move for this price range.
Camera setup
Samsung Galaxy A27 5G has a triple rear camera setup.
The main camera is a 50MP sensor with OIS. OIS means optical image stabilization, which helps reduce blur when your hand shakes slightly while taking photos or videos.
The phone also gets a 5MP ultra-wide camera with a 115-degree field of view and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, there is a 12MP HDR selfie camera for photos and video calls.
The phone supports 4K video recording from the main camera. This can be useful for creators, students, vloggers and small business owners who want sharper videos for social media or product clips.
Samsung has also added AI editing tools such as Object Eraser, Edit Suggestions and My Filter. These features can help clean up photos, remove unwanted objects and improve images without needing a separate editing app.

Software and six years of support
Software support is one of the strongest points of the Galaxy A27 5G. Samsung says the phone will receive six years of Android OS upgrades, One UI upgrades and security patches.
This is a big benefit for buyers who keep phones for a long time. Many mid-range phones become less attractive after two or three years because updates slow down. With six years of support, the A27 5G gets a longer life cycle.
The phone runs Android 16 with One UI 8.5. Samsung also includes Knox and Knox Vault for hardware-level security. For users who store personal photos, banking apps, UPI apps, documents and passwords on their phone, stronger security is a meaningful feature.
AI features and daily use
Samsung is also bringing more AI tools to the Galaxy A27 5G. The phone includes Circle to Search with Google, Gemini, Perplexity and Bixby support.
Circle to Search is useful when you see something on screen and want to know more about it. For example, if you see a shoe, a watch, a place or a product in a photo, you can circle it and search directly.
The Voice Recorder app can also transcribe and translate recordings in 22 languages. Samsung says Live Transcription supports phone calls and voicemail in English, Hindi and Gujarati. This can help students, office users and people who take meeting notes often.
Battery and charging
The Galaxy A27 5G comes with a 5,000mAh battery. For most people, this should be enough for a full day of regular use.
The phone supports 25W fast charging. This is useful, but some rivals in this segment offer faster charging speeds. Samsung’s advantage here is more around battery reliability, software support and service network rather than fastest charging.
Competitors in India
The Galaxy A27 5G will compete with phones from OnePlus, iQOO, Redmi, Realme, Vivo and Motorola in India’s mid-range market.
Possible rivals include models from the OnePlus Nord series, iQOO Z series, Redmi Note series, Realme number series, Vivo T series and Motorola Edge lineup.
Samsung’s main selling points are long update support, AMOLED display, Knox security, reliable brand presence and camera tuning. But buyers looking mainly for the fastest charging or strongest gaming performance may find aggressive options from Chinese smartphone brands.
Conclusion with key takeaways
Samsung Galaxy A27 5G is a mid-range phone built for buyers who want long software support, a good display, solid daily performance and a dependable camera setup. It may not be the cheapest phone in its class, but the six-year update promise gives it a strong long-term value angle.
