As per its official site, Porsche offers a long list of customization options, so the final on-road price can rise considerably. Customers can choose different exterior shades, wheel designs, interior themes and comfort features.

Battery, range and performance

Both versions use a 113 kWh battery pack and all-wheel drive. The standard Cayenne Electric produces up to 408 PS, or 442 PS with launch control. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.8 seconds and has a top speed of 230 kmph.

The Cayenne Turbo Electric is aimed at buyers who want supercar-like performance from an SUV. It produces up to 857 PS in regular specifications and up to 1,156 PS with launch control. The Turbo can complete the 0-100 kmph run in 2.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 260 kmph.

The claimed WLTP range is up to 642 km for the Cayenne Electric and up to 623 km for the Turbo. Actual range will depend on driving style, traffic, weather, wheel size and air-conditioning use.

Charging features

The Cayenne Electric uses an 800-volt electrical system and supports high-speed DC charging of up to 400 kW under suitable conditions. Porsche says the battery can charge from 10% to 80% in around 16 minutes when connected to a compatible high-power charger.

The SUV also supports an optional 11 kW wireless charging system. The driver can park over a charging pad and begin charging without plugging in a cable. Porsche’s official technical information also highlights double-sided battery cooling, which helps maintain battery temperature during demanding driving and fast charging as per Porsche Newsroom.

Features and interior

The Cayenne Electric gets a premium cabin with a curved OLED infotainment screen and a 14.25-inch digital instrument display. An optional 14.9-inch screen is available for the front passenger.

Other features include four-zone climate control, an augmented-reality head-up display, ventilated and massaging front seats, powered rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, soft-close doors and a powered tailgate.

The SUV also offers adaptive air suspension and rear-wheel steering. These systems are designed to improve comfort at low speeds and stability during faster driving. Boot space is rated at up to 781 litres, while the front storage area adds another 90 litres.

How it is different from rivals

The Porsche Cayenne Electric competes with luxury electric SUVs such as the Lotus Eletre and Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV. The Range Rover Electric is another important future rival.

Its strongest advantage is the combination of Porsche driving performance, long-distance range, quick charging and a highly customizable cabin. However, its price is much higher than most premium electric SUVs, and the cost of optional features can be significant.

Conclusion with key takeaways

The Porsche Cayenne Electric brings Porsche’s performance-focused approach to the luxury EV segment in India. Its large battery, fast charging system, advanced suspension and powerful electric motors make it more than a regular electric SUV.

For buyers who want luxury, speed and everyday practicality in one package, the Cayenne Electric is a compelling option. Its main limitations are the very high price, expensive options and the need for access to powerful charging infrastructure.
