Porsche Cayenne Electric India Launch on September 30, A Luxury EV Built for Speed, Range and Status

Porsche is getting ready to officially debut the Cayenne Electric in India on September 30, 2026. The luxury electric SUV has already been listed with prices in India, but the upcoming event is expected to mark its proper market introduction.

The Cayenne Electric will sit above the Macan Electric and Taycan in Porsche India’s EV portfolio. For buyers looking at a high-end electric SUV, it brings a mix of long range, serious performance, premium cabin tech and Porsche’s sporty driving character.

What makes Porsche Cayenne Electric different

The Porsche Cayenne Electric is not designed like a regular family EV. It is a luxury performance SUV that happens to be fully electric.

Both variants use a 113kWh battery pack and dual electric motors with all-wheel drive. The standard Cayenne Electric produces around 408hp and 835Nm, while the Cayenne Turbo Electric goes much higher with up to 1,156hp in launch mode.

In simple words, the standard version is already very quick, while the Turbo Electric is supercar-fast for an SUV. Porsche claims the regular Cayenne Electric can go from 0 to 100kmph in 4.8 seconds. The Turbo Electric can do the same sprint in just 2.5 seconds.

Range and charging

The Cayenne Electric offers a claimed range of up to 642km, while the Turbo Electric offers up to 623km. Real-world range will depend on driving style, traffic, speed, weather and use of air conditioning.

The SUV supports up to 390kW DC fast charging. Porsche claims a 10 to 80 percent charge can be done in around 16 minutes when connected to a suitable high-speed charger.

Another interesting feature is optional wireless charging. The Cayenne Electric is the first Porsche model to offer an 11kW wireless charging setup, where the SUV can be charged by parking over a charging plate.

Expected on-road price in India

The ex-showroom price starts at around Rs. 1.77 crore for the standard Cayenne Electric and goes up to around Rs. 2.27 crore or Rs. 2.28 crore for the Cayenne Turbo Electric.

On-road prices will vary by city because of insurance, registration, road tax and optional extras. In Mumbai, the on-road price is listed around Rs. 1.89 crore for the standard variant and around Rs. 2.42 crore for the Turbo Electric.

In other major cities, buyers should expect the on-road price to stay roughly in the Rs. 1.9 crore to Rs. 2.5 crore range, depending on variant and customization.

Features and cabin experience

Inside, the Cayenne Electric gets a modern Porsche cabin with a digital driver display and a 14.5-inch curved infotainment screen. Buyers can also choose an optional passenger display and augmented-reality head-up display.

The SUV offers features such as adaptive air suspension, four-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging and premium audio. A 14-speaker Bose system is standard, while a 20-speaker Harman Kardon system is optional.

Practicality is also strong. The SUV has a 90-litre front storage area and a 781-litre boot, which can expand further when the rear seats are folded.

Competitors in India

The Porsche Cayenne Electric will compete with the BMW iX, Audi Q8 e-tron, Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV and Lotus Eletre. Its main strength is performance, while rivals may compete on comfort, rear-seat space, pricing or brand preference.
