New Audi Q3 Arrives Tomorrow while Renault Duster Hybrid Nears Launch and Hyundai Expands Talegaon Plant

India’s car market is closing the week with activity at nearly every price point. As discussed earlier, Audi is set to launch the new Q3 tomorrow, Renault’s Duster Strong Hybrid is nearing its market debut, and Hyundai has opened its Talegaon manufacturing plant with a major expansion plan.
New Audi Q3 brings more technology and quattro drive
Audi will launch the third-generation Q3 in India on October 16. The luxury SUV gets a fresh exterior with split LED lighting, a wider grille and connected rear lights. It looks more modern than the outgoing Q3 while retaining its compact SUV shape.
As per Autocar, Inside, the new Q3 is expected to feature a 12.8-inch touchscreen, an 11.9-inch digital driver display, panoramic sunroof, powered front seats and a 12-speaker Sonos audio system. It also gets a 488-litre boot, which should be useful for airport runs or family weekend trips.
The India-spec Q3 will use a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 204 hp and 320 Nm. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and quattro all-wheel drive will be standard. Audi claims a 0 to 100 kmph time of 7.1 seconds.
The new Audi Q3 is expected to compete with the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA. Audi will announce final prices at launch, though it is likely to cost more than the outgoing model.
Renault Duster Strong Hybrid focuses on fuel efficiency
The Renault Duster Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160 is also expected shortly. Renault says it combines a 1.8-litre petrol engine, two electric motors and a 1.4 kWh battery pack. The company has announced an ARAI-certified fuel-efficiency figure of 29 kmpl.
The hybrid system is designed to allow more electric-only driving in city conditions. For a buyer who spends most weekdays in traffic but also wants an SUV for occasional highway trips, this could offer a middle path between regular petrol and a fully electric car.
The Duster Hybrid is expected to take on the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Hybrid, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Hybrid and Honda Elevate Hybrid.
Volvo EX90 is now India’s flagship electric SUV
Volvo has launched the six-seat EX90 in a fully loaded Ultra variant at Rs. 1.26 crore, ex-showroom. It uses a 106 kWh battery, two electric motors and all-wheel drive.
Volvo quotes 456 hp, 670 Nm and a WLTP range of up to 625 km. The EX90 can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in around 22 minutes on a suitable 350 kW DC fast charger. Its rivals include the BMW iX, Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV and Kia EV9.
Why Hyundai’s Rs. 11,000 crore Talegaon plan matters
Hyundai formally inaugurated its Talegaon plant in Pune on October 14. The factory starts with annual capacity of 1.7 lakh vehicles, with Hyundai aiming to increase it to 3.2 lakh units by 2030.
According to The Indian Express, Hyundai plans to invest Rs. 11,000 crore by 2030 for this expansion. The plant will build the new Hyundai Venue for exports to more than 35 markets.
This matters because higher local production can support suppliers, skilled jobs and vehicle exports. It also gives Hyundai more room to introduce new models and compete harder in India’s fast-moving SUV market.
Conclusion and key takeaways
The new Audi Q3 is the key launch to watch tomorrow, offering a powerful petrol engine, quattro all-wheel drive and a more technology-rich cabin. Renault’s Duster Hybrid may appeal to mileage-conscious SUV buyers, while the Volvo EX90 sets a new flagship benchmark for Volvo India. Hyundai’s Talegaon investment, meanwhile, is a bigger industry story that could strengthen local production and exports for years.
