Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG Launches at Rs. 9.99 Lakh – Features, Mileage and Specifications Explained

Mahindra has launched the CNG version of its compact SUV, called the XUV 3XO ZNG as discussed earlier, with prices starting at Rs. 9.99 lakh, ex-showroom. It brings CNG running costs to a vehicle known for its turbo-petrol performance and feature-rich cabin.
The main talking point is not just fuel savings. Mahindra has used two smaller CNG cylinders under the boot floor, instead of one large cylinder. This leaves buyers with a usable 270-litre luggage area, which is useful for daily bags, groceries, or a few soft suitcases. Earlier to this, Mahindra has launched XUV 3XO Revx Edge.
Price and variants
The Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG is available in four variants. The range starts with the MX Edge at Rs. 9.99 lakh and goes up to Rs. 12.27 lakh for the REVX A variant. All figures are ex-showroom prices.
The other variants are the REVX Edge (O) at Rs. 10.79 lakh and AX5 at Rs. 11.19 lakh. Buyers can choose based on whether they want the basic CNG SUV experience or more comfort features such as a sunroof, larger screens and premium cabin equipment.
Engine, performance and mileage
The XUV 3XO ZNG uses a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a factory-fitted CNG system. It produces 111 PS and 200 Nm of torque in both petrol and CNG modes, according to Mahindra.
This is important because many CNG cars feel less responsive when running on gas. Mahindra claims the XUV 3XO ZNG can reach 0 to 100 kmph in 11.8 seconds in CNG mode. It has a six-speed manual gearbox and no automatic option at launch.
The claimed fuel efficiency is 24.7 km per kg. Actual mileage will depend on traffic, driving style, air-conditioner use and the load inside the SUV. The system can automatically move to petrol when the CNG supply gets low.
Features and safety equipment
Even the entry-level version gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen, rear-view camera, cruise control, rear AC vents and a 60:40 split rear seat. Higher variants add equipment such as a sunroof, dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, two 10.25-inch displays and connected-car functions.
The top-end REVX A gets a panoramic sunroof, Dolby Atmos audio, leatherette upholstery and black alloy wheels.
Safety equipment includes six airbags, electronic stability control, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, reverse parking sensors and seat-belt reminders. These features are standard across the CNG range.

Rivals and who should consider it
The XUV 3XO CNG will compete with the Tata Nexon CNG and Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG. Its turbo engine and 200 Nm torque are likely to appeal to buyers who want lower fuel bills without moving to a basic city car.
It makes sense for someone who drives regularly in the city and has convenient access to CNG stations. However, families that often travel with large hard-shell suitcases should inspect the 270-litre boot in person before booking.
Conclusion and key takeaways
The Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG gives buyers a more powerful CNG SUV option at a starting price of Rs. 9.99 lakh. Its twin-cylinder arrangement keeps the boot more practical, while the turbo engine, six airbags and available premium features help it stand apart. The absence of an automatic gearbox is its biggest limitation, but for manual-car buyers focused on running costs, it is a strong new option.
