Five Startups ONYA, Ema, Curaa, ByteAsk and MyRx Raise Fresh Capital Across Jewellery, AI, Kitchenware and Healthcare

Recent funding announcements show how varied India’s startup ecosystem has become. Investors are backing businesses in lab-grown diamonds, enterprise AI, kitchen products, developer tools and primary healthcare.

The five companies are solving very different problems. ONYA is making diamond jewellery more accessible, Ema is building AI employees for large companies, Curaa is designing products for Indian kitchens, ByteAsk is creating coding agents for C and C++, and MyRx is building digital infrastructure for primary care.

ONYA raises Rs. 12.5 crore for lab-grown diamond jewellery

Lab-grown diamond jewellery startup ONYA has raised Rs. 12.5 crore in a pre-Series A round led by Divisa Family Office. Existing investor Zeropearl VC also participated. The company had earlier raised Rs. 5.5 crore in seed funding.

Founded by Himani Yadav and Gaurav Choudhary, ONYA operates stores in Bengaluru, Pune and Hyderabad.

The company said it has reached monthly recurring revenue of Rs. 3.5 crore within 20 months of launch. ETRetail reported that the new capital will be used for more stores, digital customer acquisition, personalization, product design and manufacturing research.

ONYA’s difference lies in its focus on contemporary designs and technology-led production. It highlights its patented ONYA Setting and uses IGI-certified lab-grown diamonds with BIS-hallmarked gold. Unlike traditional jewellers that mainly depend on large physical networks, ONYA is combining retail stores with online discovery and customization.

Its competition includes other lab-grown diamond brands and established jewellery companies entering the same category. The challenge will be building trust, explaining the value of lab-grown diamonds and maintaining strong product quality as the market grows.

Ema raises $77 million for AI employees

Enterprise AI company Ema has raised $77 million in Series B funding led by Creaegis. Existing investors Accel, S32 and Prosus also joined the round. The funding takes Ema’s total capital raised to $140 million.

Ema was founded in 2023 by Surojit Chatterjee and Souvik Sen.

Its main product is a group of AI employees that can handle work in areas such as human resources, IT and finance. Instead of only answering questions, these AI systems are designed to complete multi-step tasks across the software that a company already uses.

For example, an AI employee could receive an IT request, check company rules, update the right system and inform the employee about the result. This is different from a basic chatbot that simply gives a written reply.

Ema says its technology already supports large enterprise workloads. At Wipro, its employee assistant supports more than 240,000 associates across 65 countries and handles millions of queries and workflows. The company says the new funding will help it expand the use of AI employees in production environments. Ema’s funding announcement describes its focus on HR, IT and finance operations.

Ema competes with enterprise automation platforms and other agentic AI companies. Its key selling point is the attempt to complete work from start to finish, with less manual coordination.

Curaa gets Rs. 40 crore to build better kitchen products

Kitchen and lifestyle brand Curaa has raised Rs. 40 crore in Series A funding led by 3one4 Capital. Kae Capital, Lumikai and Better Capital also participated.

Curaa was founded in 2024 by chef and content creator Sanjyot Keer and entrepreneur Neeraj Kumawat.

The company develops kitchen appliances and tools based on Indian cooking habits. Its funding will support product development, branding, supply chain improvements and expansion across online and offline channels. ET reported that Curaa wants to build a wider omnichannel presence.

Curaa’s advantage is its connection with cooking content and practical Indian kitchen needs. A mixer, storage product or cooking tool designed for Indian recipes may need different features from products created for western kitchens.

The company competes with established appliance brands and newer direct-to-consumer kitchenware businesses. Its next test will be maintaining quality and customer service while expanding its product range.

ByteAsk raises $1 million for specialized coding agents

AI coding startup ByteAsk has raised $1 million in pre-seed funding from Y Combinator, Entrepreneur First and angel investors connected to global trading firms.

Founded in 2026 by Anirudha Kulkarni and Pratyush Saini, ByteAsk is focused on C and C++ development.

These languages are widely used in cars, chips, operating systems and trading systems.

ByteAsk’s main difference is that it does not stop after generating code. Its agent builds, tests and debugs changes using real compilers, debuggers and testing tools. This matters because a small error in low-level software can cause performance, security or safety problems.

The company plans to use its early capital to improve the product, expand its developer base and build tools for businesses that depend on systems-level software. Y Combinator describes ByteAsk as an AI coding agent that can work through the terminal, code editors and on-premise systems.

Its competitors include general-purpose AI coding assistants. ByteAsk is taking a narrower path by focusing on languages where accuracy and testing are especially important.

MyRx raises undisclosed seed funding for primary care

Healthcare technology company MyRx has raised an undisclosed seed round led by SteerX VC.

The Hyderabad-based company was co-founded in 2019 by Sourav Das, Surjit Das and Neel Rath.

MyRx describes itself as a primary healthcare infrastructure company. Its platform brings together doctor networks, teleconsultation, electronic prescriptions, electronic medical records and patient engagement tools.

The company plans to use the funding to expand its clinical network and strengthen the technology needed to deliver doctor-led primary care at scale. Malik Times reported that the amount of the round was not disclosed.

MyRx is different from a simple online doctor-booking app. Its focus is on the systems that help doctors, clinics, hospitals and healthcare brands manage consultations and follow-up care. It competes with digital clinics, telehealth platforms and healthcare software providers.

Conclusion and key takeaways

These five funding rounds reflect five different startup opportunities. ONYA is trying to modernize jewellery buying, Ema is moving AI from demonstrations into daily company operations, Curaa is bringing creator-led thinking to kitchen products, ByteAsk is targeting difficult software development work, and MyRx is building the digital backbone for primary care.

The common thread is specialization. Each company is focusing on a clear customer problem instead of trying to serve everyone at once.

Key takeaways –

  • ONYA raised Rs. 12.5 crore for lab-grown diamond jewellery expansion.
  • Ema raised $77 million to scale AI employees across enterprise functions.
  • Curaa raised Rs. 40 crore for product development and kitchen brand expansion.
  • ByteAsk raised $1 million to build specialized C and C++ coding agents.
  • MyRx raised an undisclosed seed round to expand primary healthcare infrastructure.
  • All five startups are trying to stand apart through focused products and industry-specific solutions.
