How to Verify And Authenticate Voter ID Details and Add Family Members?

Electors Verification Program, launched by Election Commission of India Headquarters in New Delhi on September 1, 2019 as an initiative on National Voters’ Services Portal (NVSP) and Voter Helpline App to verify and update/authenticate the voter ID details of the voter of India. In this initiative, voters are needed to participate to verify and authenticate their voter ID details for the next Electoral Roll for better electoral services in all forthcoming elections.

The main aim of the program is to improve the health of Electoral rolls and to provide better electoral services to citizens and increase the level of communication between voters and the Commission. The program has been launched at all Levels starting from the State/UT Headquarters by 32 CEOs, District level by about 700 DEOs and at around 1 million Polling Stations by BLOs/EROs and will continue from September 1, 2019 and extended to October 31st, 2019 for Delhi and 18th Nov, 2019 for other Indian states.

The voters/electors can get registered and logged in to NVSP portal (nvsp.in) or Voter Helpline App to verify and authenticate his/her details along with addition of family members. Alternatively you can opt other methods such as visit Common Service Centres (CSCs) or any nearby voter facilitation centre to avail the below facilities-

• Verification and corrections of the existing details
• Authenticate entry by furnishing scanned/DigiLocker copy of anyone of the below documents for the identity/address proof-

(i) Indian Passport

(ii) Driving License

(iii) Aadhaar Card

(iv) Ration Card

(v) identity card for Government/Semi Government Officials

(vi) Bank Passbooks

(vii) Farmer’s Identity Card

(viii) PAN Card

(ix) Smart Card issued by RGI (x) Latest bill for water/electricity/telephone/gas connection

• Providing details of family members and verifying their entries too
• Updating details of family members already enrolled as voters
• Providing details of eligible un-enrolled family members (born on or before 01.01.2001) and prospective electors born between (02.01.2002 till 01.01.2003) who are residing with the elector
• Verifying GIS Coordinates of voters’ house through Mobile App
• Feedback, if any, regarding existing Polling Stations and suggestions on alternate Polling Stations

The purpose behind addition of your mobile number and email id in the verification and authentication process of electors details is to help electors to get update of online application status, status of EPIC, Election Day announcement, to send voter slip on their registered email and mobile number.

Electors would also get regular notification on modifications on Serial No. and details of Polling Station, Change in BLO/ ERO, all information related to Polling Station will also be shared with the Electors.

Steps To Verify And Authenticate Voter ID Details In NVSP And Add Family Listing

1. Visit NVSP site of Election Commission of India (ECI)
2. Click on login button if already registered otherwise register as a new user
3. Fill all the details such as mobile number, captcha code and click on send OTP button. OTP will be sent to your mobile number, fill it then after provide epic number, email and password/confirm password and click on Register button to get registered in NVSP site
4. Login into the NVSP site on the next screen, a dialog box including the username (email id) and password will appear. Enter the captcha code and click on “Login” button
5. You will be directed to the homepage of the portal. Click on “Electors Verification Program” as shown above
6. Electors details will appear in the next page, on this page Verification and authentication Status will be “Not Submitted”.  Click on “View Details” under Action
7. Complete details of voter will appear in this page. Tick the entries which are to be corrected in the first box. Enter the correct details in second and third box. Upload the photograph and proof of change of name (if any). Enter the place and date and click on “View Application Preview” button
8. Preview of application (Form 8) will appear. Check all the entries carefully. Click on “Submit” button
9. In the next screen on Home>>EVP Home>>Verify Self Details page, status under “Verification and Authentication Status” will be “Submitted”
10. If you want add family listing then click on the Family Listing & Authentication option >> Click anyone either Family Listing or Family Verification
11. Enter your family member Epic Number and click on Add to Family button

You can also verify these details by visiting CSCs allocated for EVP in each district of the state and UTs across the country. You can also do the verification by visiting Voter Verification Centres (VVCs) by visiting there.

Voter Helpline, a mobile app launched by ECI where you can also verify electoral details. You can also call ECI helpline by dialing 1950 for the electors verification.
