Tessolve Raises $75 Million from Vector Line Capital to Expand India’s Semiconductor Engineering Ambitions

Semiconductor engineering company Tessolve has raised $75 million, around Rs. 725 crore, from US-based Vector Line Capital. The investment will support acquisitions, wider service offerings and international expansion as per Equitypandit.
Tessolve is a Hero Electronix company backed by the Hero Group. The new investment is also Vector Line Capital’s first investment in India. Existing investors TPG and Novo Tellus Capital Partners continue to support the company.
What does Tessolve do
Founded in 2004, Tessolve provides engineering services across the semiconductor development cycle. Its work covers chip architecture, design, validation, testing and embedded systems.
In simple terms, a company developing a new chip can work with Tessolve at different stages, from early design checks to testing the finished silicon. This helps chip companies reduce development risks and bring products to market more quickly.
Tessolve works in areas such as artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, automotive electronics, data centres and industrial technology. The company also supports semiconductor companies, hyperscalers, chip startups and system manufacturers.
According to company information cited in media reports, Tessolve has more than 3,500 engineers across 10 countries and operates nine laboratories globally. It also says that it works with 18 of the world’s 20 largest semiconductor companies.
Why is the funding important
Modern chips are becoming more complex because they are used in AI servers, electric vehicles, smartphones, connected devices and advanced industrial systems.
Chip companies now need partners that can handle more than one specialized task. A company capable of working across design, validation and testing can help customers manage the development process more efficiently.
Tessolve wants to strengthen this end-to-end capability. The investment from Vector Line brings not only capital but also access to an investor focused exclusively on semiconductors and the chip supply chain.
For India, the deal highlights the growing importance of semiconductor design and engineering services. While chip manufacturing requires large factories, engineering companies such as Tessolve contribute through design knowledge, testing infrastructure and skilled talent.
How will Tessolve use the money
The main purpose of the fundraise is to support strategic acquisitions. Tessolve is reportedly in advanced discussions to close multiple deals over the next two quarters.
The target companies have not been publicly named. However, the planned acquisitions are expected to add technical skills, expand Tessolve’s service range and strengthen its presence in new markets.
Acquisitions can help Tessolve grow faster than building every capability internally. For example, buying a company with specialist automotive-chip expertise or testing laboratories could immediately add people, customer relationships and technology.
The company also plans to continue investing in engineering platforms, laboratories and global delivery centres. Tessolve previously raised $150 million from TPG in 2025, while Novo Tellus invested $40 million in 2021.
Tessolve’s position in the market
Tessolve competes in the global semiconductor engineering services market. Its rivals include large technology service companies and specialist chip-design firms that offer services such as verification, testing, embedded engineering and product development.
The company’s main difference is its effort to provide a broad, end-to-end service instead of focusing on only one part of the chip lifecycle. Its global laboratories and experience across AI, automotive and high-performance computing also support this positioning.
The challenge will be integrating acquisitions successfully while maintaining quality, customer trust and engineering talent.
Conclusion with key takeaways –
Tessolve’s $75 million fundraise is aimed at building a larger global semiconductor engineering business. The company plans to use the capital mainly for acquisitions that add expertise, services and international reach.
The deal also shows that investors see opportunities beyond chip manufacturing. Design, validation and testing are becoming equally important as AI, electric vehicles and data centres increase demand for advanced semiconductors.
