Vivo has quietly introduced the Vivo Y31T 5G, a new Y-series phone built for people who want long battery life, smooth display performance and simple day-to-day reliability. The phone brings a large 7200mAh battery, 120Hz display, 50MP dual rear camera setup, dual speakers and 5G support.

The Y-series usually targets practical buyers, and the Vivo Y31T 5G follows that path. It is not trying to be a flagship camera phone or a gaming monster. Instead, it focuses on things many users actually notice every day – battery backup, screen smoothness, loud audio, durability and enough performance for regular apps.

At present, Vivo has listed the phone in multiple RAM and storage options, but the official price has not been revealed in the report. So buyers may have to wait a little longer for final pricing and sale details.

What makes Vivo Y31T 5G interesting

The biggest highlight of the Vivo Y31T 5G is its 7200mAh battery. That is much larger than the 5000mAh battery still common in many budget and mid-range phones.

For a student, office worker, traveller or delivery partner, this kind of battery can be very useful. It can reduce the need to carry a charger everywhere. It also makes the phone more suitable for long video calls, maps, online classes, social media and streaming.

Vivo has paired the battery with 44W FlashCharge. This is important because a large battery is only convenient when charging speed is also decent. The phone also supports modern battery-focused features, although real backup will always depend on usage, network strength and screen brightness.

Display and design

The Vivo Y31T 5G comes with a 6.75-inch LCD display. It has a 1608 x 720 pixel resolution and supports up to 120Hz refresh rate.

A 120Hz refresh rate means scrolling should feel smoother than on a regular 60Hz screen. You may notice this while moving through Instagram, YouTube, web pages, menus and supported games.

The display also offers up to 1250 nits HBM brightness. HBM means high brightness mode. In simple words, the screen can become brighter in strong outdoor light, making it easier to read under sunlight.

The panel also has 83% NTSC colour coverage and TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification. That certification is meant to reduce blue light exposure, though it does not mean the screen is a medical eye-care product.

Performance and software

The Vivo Y31T 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset. This is a 4nm processor made for affordable 5G phones.

For daily use, it should handle calls, WhatsApp, YouTube, browsing, UPI apps, maps, social media and light gaming without much trouble. It is not a high-end chip for heavy gaming, but it is sensible for this category.

The phone uses LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. UFS 3.1 is a good addition because faster storage can help apps open more quickly and make the phone feel more responsive.

Vivo has also added Extended RAM support of up to 6GB. This feature uses part of the phone’s storage as extra virtual memory. It can help with multitasking, but it is not the same as real physical RAM.

The phone runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. It also includes AI features such as AI Erase, AI Captions, AI Transcript Assist, AI Creation and AI SuperLink. These features are designed to help with photo editing, captions, transcription, content creation and better connectivity.

Camera setup

The Vivo Y31T 5G has a 50MP main rear camera along with a 2MP bokeh sensor.

The 50MP camera will do most of the real work. It should be useful for daylight photos, portraits, documents and casual social media shots. The 2MP bokeh sensor helps with background blur in portrait-style photos.

On the front, Vivo has given an 8MP selfie camera. This should be enough for video calls, selfies and basic social media use.

Buyers should keep expectations realistic. This is a practical Y-series phone, so it may not match premium phones in night photography, zoom or video stabilization.

Battery life claims

Vivo claims the 7200mAh battery can deliver up to 62 hours of music playback, 32 hours of video playback, 10.2 hours of navigation and 11.4 hours of gaming under lab conditions, according to the report.

These numbers are useful for understanding the phone’s positioning, but real-world results will be different. If you use 5G data, high brightness, navigation and gaming together, the battery will drain faster. Still, the large capacity should give the Vivo Y31T 5G a strong advantage over many regular phones.

Audio, durability and other features

The Vivo Y31T 5G comes with dual speakers. This should make videos, reels, calls on speaker and casual gaming sound better than phones with a single bottom speaker.

The phone also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings. In simple language, this means it has stronger dust and water protection than many regular budget phones. It also supports for underwater photography up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes under specified conditions.

Still, users should be careful. Water resistance depends on testing conditions, and damage from real-life water exposure may not always be covered in the same way.

Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual nano-SIM support, 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C.

Variants and colours

Vivo has listed the Y31T 5G in three variants.

The options include 4GB RAM with 128GB storage, 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and 6GB RAM with 256GB storage.

The phone comes in three colour choices – Festive Red, Seashore Green and Noble Gold. These colours give the phone a more lifestyle-focused look instead of a plain budget-phone feel.

Vivo Y31T 5G price

The Vivo Y31T 5G price has not been revealed yet.

This is important for buyers because the phone’s value will depend heavily on pricing. If Vivo places it in the right budget 5G range, the large battery, 120Hz display and IP-rated design could make it attractive.

For now, it is better to wait for Vivo’s official pricing or retail listing before comparing it directly with other phones.

Conclusion with key takeaways

The Vivo Y31T 5G looks like a practical phone for users who want battery life and durability more than premium extras. Its 7200mAh battery, 120Hz screen, 50MP camera, dual speakers and IP-rated body make it a strong everyday-use package.

The missing piece is price. Once Vivo reveals the official price and availability, it will be easier to judge whether the Y31T 5G is a strong buy or just another big-battery phone in a crowded market.
