Lava has launched the Lava Virat Curve 5G in India today, September 21, 2026, adding a more premium-looking model to its Virat smartphone series. The phone is aimed at users who want a stylish 5G device with a curved display, long battery life, clean software and a few fresh design touches.

The Lava Virat Curve 5G stands out mainly because of its 3D curved AMOLED screen and rear mini display. For a brand that usually focuses on value phones, this model feels like a step toward a more feature-rich mid-range experience.

What makes Lava Virat Curve 5G special

As per report, the biggest highlight is the 6.67-inch 3D curved AMOLED display. It gets Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,100 nits peak brightness, as per Gadgets 360. In simple words, the screen should feel smooth while scrolling and bright enough for regular outdoor use.

The phone also gets a small rear mini display near the camera area. This screen can show things like time, battery status, notifications, emojis and custom messages. It is not a must-have feature, but it gives the phone a different personality compared to many regular 5G phones in this segment.

Performance and software

The Lava Virat Curve 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor. It comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. This should be enough for daily use, social media, video streaming, online classes, payments and light gaming.

The phone runs Android 16 out of the box. Lava is also promising two years of OS upgrades and three years of security updates. That is useful for buyers who do not change phones every year.

Lava is also known for offering a cleaner software experience on many of its recent phones. If the Virat Curve follows the same path, it may appeal to users who dislike unwanted apps and heavy ads on budget and mid-range phones.

Camera and battery

For photography, the Lava Virat Curve 5G gets a 50MP Sony IMX752 main rear camera. It supports up to 2K video recording at 30fps. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera.

The battery is another strong point. The phone packs a 6000mAh battery with 45W fast charging. For practical use, this means it should comfortably handle a full day for most people. Students, field workers and heavy video watchers may find this useful.

Design, durability and availability

The Lava Virat Curve 5G comes in Heritage Indigo and Makrana Ivory colour options. It has a vegan leather finish at the back, curved front and rear panels, USB Type-C support, an in-display fingerprint scanner and IP64 dust and splash resistance.

The phone is available through Flipkart. Some listings suggest a price around Rs. 24,999, but buyers should check the final launch offer and bank discounts on Flipkart or Lava’s official channels before purchasing.

Competitors to watch

In the same broad price range, the Lava Virat Curve 5G may compete with phones like Infinix Hot 70 Pro 5G, OnePlus N6 5G, Moto G-series models and other mid-range 5G phones under Rs. 25,000.

Its main advantage is the mix of curved AMOLED display, large battery, clean Android experience and rear mini display. However, buyers who want stronger gaming performance or more advanced camera systems should compare reviews before deciding.

Poco seems ready to refresh its M-series lineup in India again, and the name now doing the rounds is Poco M8x 5G. The phone has not been officially detailed by Poco India yet, so buyers should treat early information with a little patience. Still, the M-series usually targets users who want good speed, a big display, 5G support and strong battery life without moving into expensive flagship territory.

The Poco M8x 5G India launch could be important because the budget and lower mid-range 5G market is already crowded. Brands like Realme, Redmi, iQOO, Motorola and Samsung are pushing phones with bright displays, long battery life and cleaner designs. Poco will need more than just a familiar name to stand out.

Before we go ahead, one thing is important. Verified official details for the Poco M8x 5G are limited at the time of writing. So, this article explains what is known from Poco’s recent M-series direction, what buyers can realistically expect, and which features should matter in daily use.

Poco M8x 5G India launch – Why it matters

Poco’s M-series has usually been about value. These phones are not meant to be luxury devices. They are made for people who want a fast enough phone for social media, YouTube, online classes, UPI payments, casual gaming and everyday photography.

If the Poco M8x 5G launches in India soon, it may sit near the Poco M8 5G or slightly below it, depending on pricing. Poco may use the “x” branding to offer a more affordable model with a few changes in display, camera, battery or charging speed.

This is common in India’s smartphone market. A brand launches one main model, then follows it with a slightly different version to cover another price point. For buyers, that can be useful, but it also creates confusion. That is why the final price will matter as much as the spec sheet.

Expected display and design

A large display is almost certain for a Poco M-series 5G phone. The Poco M8 5G already comes with a 6.77-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, so the Poco M8x 5G may also focus on a smooth screen experience.

A 120Hz display means the screen can refresh faster than a basic 60Hz panel. In simple words, scrolling through Instagram, reading news, switching apps and playing supported games can feel smoother.

If Poco wants to keep the price lower, it may use an LCD panel instead of AMOLED. AMOLED displays usually offer deeper blacks and better contrast, while LCD screens are often used to control cost. For a beginner buyer, the simple rule is this – AMOLED is better for videos and colours, but a good LCD can still be fine for daily use.

Design could also follow Poco’s current style with a large camera island, flat or slightly curved edges, and bright colour options. Poco phones often try to look bold, so expect a design that appeals to younger users.

Performance and 5G support

Performance will be the main thing to watch. The Poco M8 5G uses the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, which is a 4nm 5G processor. If Poco positions the M8x below that model, it may choose a different Snapdragon or MediaTek Dimensity chip.

For daily use, buyers should not look only at chipset names. A good phone also needs enough RAM, decent storage speed and clean software tuning. A phone with 6GB RAM can be enough for normal use, while 8GB RAM is better if you keep many apps open or play games.

For storage, 128GB should be the minimum for most users now. Apps, photos, WhatsApp media and short videos fill space quickly. If Poco offers a 256GB variant at a fair price, that may be the smarter long-term choice.

Since this is expected to be a 5G phone, buyers should also check supported 5G bands after launch. More band support can help with better compatibility across Indian telecom networks.

Camera expectations

Poco may use a 50MP main camera on the Poco M8x 5G, as this has become common in this segment. But megapixels alone do not decide photo quality.

A good 50MP camera can take sharp daylight photos, but night shots, skin tones and video stability depend on the sensor and software processing. If Poco includes only a basic secondary camera, buyers should not expect flagship-level portrait or ultra-wide photos.

For practical use, the camera should be good enough for college events, family photos, food pictures, document scans and social media posts. If you shoot many videos, wait for real camera samples before buying.

Battery and charging

Battery life is one area where Poco usually plays strong. The Poco M8 5G has a 5520mAh battery with 45W charging. For the Poco M8x 5G, a battery around 5000mAh or higher would make sense.

A 5000mAh battery is usually enough for one full day for most people. If you watch a lot of reels, use hotspot, play games or keep 5G data on all day, battery drain will be faster.

Fast charging is also useful, but buyers should check whether the charger is included in the box. Some brands now skip the adapter or offer different box contents in different markets.

Software and updates

Poco phones now run Xiaomi’s HyperOS. The Poco M8 5G launched with Android 15-based HyperOS 2 and came with a promise of four Android OS updates and six years of security patches, according to reported launch details.

If Poco gives a similar update promise for the Poco M8x 5G, it will be a strong point. Long software support means the phone can stay usable and safer for more years.

However, Poco and Xiaomi phones often come with pre-installed apps. Some users do not mind this, while others prefer a cleaner Android experience. After launch, buyers should check reviews to see how much bloatware is present and whether unwanted apps can be removed.

Competitors Poco M8x 5G may face

The Poco M8x 5G will not have an easy road. In India, buyers in this price range compare everything.

It may compete with Realme Narzo and P-series phones, Redmi Note models, iQOO Z-series phones, Moto G-series phones and Samsung’s budget 5G Galaxy models. Each rival has a different strength. Realme often focuses on charging and design. Redmi offers balanced specs. iQOO pushes performance. Motorola attracts users who want cleaner software. Samsung has brand trust and wide service reach.

Poco’s advantage could be performance for the price. But if the display, camera or software experience feels weak, buyers may look elsewhere.

Should you wait for Poco M8x 5G

If your current phone is working fine, waiting makes sense. The Poco M8x 5G launch may bring fresh options, and older Poco models may also get discounts once the new phone arrives.

If you need a phone urgently, compare the Poco M8 5G, Redmi Note series, Realme alternatives and Motorola options in your budget. Do not buy only because of the launch hype. Check display type, processor, update promise, camera samples and after-sales service in your city.

Conclusion with key takeaways

The Poco M8x 5G India launch looks interesting, but buyers should wait for official confirmation before making a final decision. Poco’s recent M-series phones suggest that the M8x 5G may focus on 5G performance, a smooth display, useful battery life and aggressive pricing.

Key takeaways –

Poco M8x 5G is expected to be a value-focused 5G phone for general users.

The phone may offer a large high-refresh-rate display, 50MP camera and strong battery life.

Final chipset, price and update promise are still important details to watch.

It may compete with Realme, Redmi, iQOO, Motorola and Samsung budget 5G phones.

Wait for official specs and reviews before buying.

OPPO seems to be preparing the Reno 16 series for global markets, and the latest Geekbench listing has given us an early look at what the regular OPPO Reno 16 global variant may offer. The phone has reportedly appeared with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, Android 16 and 12GB RAM.

This is interesting because the China version of the Reno 16 is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500-series chip. If the Geekbench listing is accurate, OPPO may again follow a different hardware strategy for global markets.

For buyers, this means one simple thing. The OPPO Reno 16 sold globally may not be the same phone as the Chinese model, at least when it comes to performance hardware.

What the Geekbench listing reveals

The OPPO Reno 16 global variant has reportedly appeared on Geekbench with model number CPH2865. This model number has also been linked with certification listings in markets such as the UAE and Thailand. The Geekbench database does not directly write “Snapdragon 7 Gen 4” in a simple product-name format. However, reports say the chipset details, CPU layout, GPU information and SM7750 identifier point toward Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4.

The listing also shows 12GB RAM and Android 16. In benchmark testing, the phone reportedly scored 1,240 points in single-core and 3,994 points in multi-core performance.

Why Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 matters

The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 is a mid-range premium chip designed for phones that want a balance of performance, battery efficiency and AI features without entering flagship pricing. For daily users, this chip should be enough for smooth browsing, social media, video streaming, multitasking and casual gaming. It should also handle camera processing and AI-based features better than entry-level chipsets.

Still, buyers should remember that benchmark scores are only one part of the story. Real-world performance depends on software tuning, heat management, storage type, battery size and how well OPPO optimizes ColorOS.

Android 16 out of the box

The Geekbench listing also mentions Android 16. If the phone launches with Android 16 globally, it could be a good point for buyers who want a fresher software base. OPPO usually runs its phones on ColorOS, so the Reno 16 global version is expected to ship with a ColorOS build based on Android 16. This may bring updated privacy tools, smoother animations, AI features and improved app handling.

However, OPPO has not officially confirmed the global Reno 16 software version yet. So, final details should be checked at launch.

12GB RAM could help heavy users

The listed 12GB RAM variant suggests OPPO may position the Reno 16 as a strong mid-range phone rather than a basic device. More RAM helps when users keep multiple apps open, switch between social media and work apps, or use camera and editing tools. For example, someone who records videos, edits reels, chats on WhatsApp, keeps Chrome tabs open and plays games may benefit from higher RAM.

That said, RAM alone does not make a phone fast. Processor, storage speed and software optimization also matter.

How the global variant may differ from China model

The China version of the OPPO Reno 16 was launched with a MediaTek Dimensity 8500-series processor. The global variant, according to the new Geekbench listing, may use Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 instead.

This is not unusual. Smartphone brands often change chipsets, camera setups, charging speeds or storage variants depending on region. Reasons can include pricing, supply chain, network support and market positioning. For Indian buyers, this means they should wait for the official India or global launch before comparing the Reno 16 with the China model. A spec sheet from China may not fully represent the phone that arrives in India or other global markets.

Expected launch timeline

OPPO has not officially announced the global launch date of the Reno 16 series yet. However, the Geekbench appearance and recent certification sightings suggest that launch preparation is moving forward. Reports suggest the phone may launch later in June 2026 or in the first half of July 2026. This is not confirmed, so it should be treated as an expected timeline.

If OPPO follows its usual pattern, the company may first tease design, camera features and AI tools before announcing price and sale dates.

Camera and design expectations

The Reno series is known for design and camera-focused features. While the Geekbench listing does not reveal camera hardware, buyers can expect OPPO to focus on portraits, selfies, low-light photography and AI editing tools.

The Reno lineup usually targets users who want a stylish phone with a good camera experience rather than only raw gaming performance. So, the Reno 16 global variant may appeal to content creators, students, office users and people who want a premium-looking phone without flagship pricing. Official camera specs, battery size, charging speed and display details are still not confirmed for the global variant.

Competitors to watch

The OPPO Reno 16 global variant will likely compete with phones from Vivo, Samsung, OnePlus, iQOO, Realme, Motorola and Nothing in the upper mid-range segment. Possible rivals may include Vivo V-series phones, Samsung Galaxy A-series models, OnePlus Nord devices, iQOO Z-series or Neo-series phones, Realme number-series Pro models and Nothing’s mid-range phones.

OPPO’s main strength will likely be design, camera tuning and software experience. Competitors may fight back with faster processors, bigger batteries, stronger update promises or more aggressive pricing.

Should you wait for OPPO Reno 16

If you are planning to buy a stylish mid-range 5G phone and do not need a device urgently, waiting for the Reno 16 launch may make sense. The combination of Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, 12GB RAM and Android 16 sounds promising for general users.

But if gaming performance is your top priority, it is better to wait for reviews. A benchmark listing gives early hints, but it does not show sustained gaming performance, heating behaviour or battery drain.

The safest approach is to wait for OPPO’s official launch, India pricing, sale offers and real-world reviews before making a final decision.

Conclusion with key takeaways

The OPPO Reno 16 global variant has become more interesting after its reported Geekbench appearance. The listing suggests a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, Android 16 and 12GB RAM, making it a strong upcoming mid-range phone on paper.
