Redmi has launched the Redmi 17C 5G in India as an affordable smartphone for users who want a large display, 5G connectivity and long battery life. The phone joins the Redmi 17 series as its most affordable model.

The Redmi 17C 5G has been launched in two storage configurations. Its main highlights include a 6.9-inch 120Hz display, MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, 50MP rear camera and a 6,000mAh battery.

Redmi 17C 5G price and sale date

The Redmi 17C 5G starts at Rs. 20,999 for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage version. The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model costs Rs. 22,999.

The phone will be available in Coffee Brew, Purple Dawn and Dark Night colours. Sales are scheduled to begin from October 7, 2026.

Display and design

The smartphone features a 6.9-inch HD+ LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. A higher refresh rate can make scrolling, animations and supported games feel smoother than a standard 60Hz panel.

The display has a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. This is suitable for watching videos, browsing and social media, although Full HD+ screens generally offer sharper text and images.

The Redmi 17C 5G is around 7.99mm thick and weighs approximately 211 grams. It also carries an IP64 rating, offering protection from dust and water splashes. The phone is available with a vegan-leather finish on the Coffee Brew colour option.

Performance and storage

The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. This 6nm processor has a maximum clock speed of up to 2.4GHz and supports 5G networks.

The Redmi 17C 5G comes with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Users can expand storage through a microSD card, with support for cards of up to 1TB.

This hardware should be adequate for everyday activities such as WhatsApp, YouTube, web browsing, online classes and social media. It can also handle light gaming, but buyers should not expect flagship-level performance in demanding games.

Camera and battery

The phone has a 50MP primary rear camera and an 8MP front camera. Both cameras can record video at up to 1080p resolution and support features such as portrait, HDR and night modes.

The 6,000mAh battery is one of the phone’s biggest strengths. It should help users get through a full day of regular use, depending on network conditions and usage habits.

The battery supports 33W charging, and Redmi includes a compatible charger in the box. This is useful for buyers who do not want to purchase a separate fast charger.

Software and connectivity

The Redmi 17C 5G runs on HyperOS 3. It includes a USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.4, a 3.5mm headphone jack and 5G support.

The combination of a large screen and high-capacity battery makes the phone suitable for students, streaming users and people who spend several hours on social media. Its relatively low display resolution and basic camera setup may matter to users who prefer sharper screens or advanced photography.

Competition

At this price, the Redmi 17C 5G competes with phones such as the Lava Virat Curve 5G and Infinix Hot 70 Pro. These rivals offer features such as Full HD+ displays, faster processors or higher charging speeds in similar price ranges.

The Redmi model stands out mainly for its 6,000mAh battery, 120Hz display, expandable storage and familiar HyperOS experience.

Conclusion with key takeaways

The Redmi 17C 5G is aimed at buyers who want a large-screen 5G phone with dependable battery life without moving into a higher price segment. Its key strengths are the 6,000mAh battery, 120Hz display, 33W charging and expandable storage.

However, buyers should remember that the HD+ screen and entry-level camera system are compromises. It may be a good choice for everyday users, but those looking for gaming power or an AMOLED display may find better alternatives.

Image and Specifications

Lava has launched the Lava Virat Curve 5G in India today, September 21, 2026, adding a more premium-looking model to its Virat smartphone series. The phone is aimed at users who want a stylish 5G device with a curved display, long battery life, clean software and a few fresh design touches.

The Lava Virat Curve 5G stands out mainly because of its 3D curved AMOLED screen and rear mini display. For a brand that usually focuses on value phones, this model feels like a step toward a more feature-rich mid-range experience.

What makes Lava Virat Curve 5G special

As per report, the biggest highlight is the 6.67-inch 3D curved AMOLED display. It gets Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,100 nits peak brightness, as per Gadgets 360. In simple words, the screen should feel smooth while scrolling and bright enough for regular outdoor use.

The phone also gets a small rear mini display near the camera area. This screen can show things like time, battery status, notifications, emojis and custom messages. It is not a must-have feature, but it gives the phone a different personality compared to many regular 5G phones in this segment.

Performance and software

The Lava Virat Curve 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor. It comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. This should be enough for daily use, social media, video streaming, online classes, payments and light gaming.

The phone runs Android 16 out of the box. Lava is also promising two years of OS upgrades and three years of security updates. That is useful for buyers who do not change phones every year.

Lava is also known for offering a cleaner software experience on many of its recent phones. If the Virat Curve follows the same path, it may appeal to users who dislike unwanted apps and heavy ads on budget and mid-range phones.

Camera and battery

For photography, the Lava Virat Curve 5G gets a 50MP Sony IMX752 main rear camera. It supports up to 2K video recording at 30fps. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera.

The battery is another strong point. The phone packs a 6000mAh battery with 45W fast charging. For practical use, this means it should comfortably handle a full day for most people. Students, field workers and heavy video watchers may find this useful.

Design, durability and availability

The Lava Virat Curve 5G comes in Heritage Indigo and Makrana Ivory colour options. It has a vegan leather finish at the back, curved front and rear panels, USB Type-C support, an in-display fingerprint scanner and IP64 dust and splash resistance.

The phone is available through Flipkart. Some listings suggest a price around Rs. 24,999, but buyers should check the final launch offer and bank discounts on Flipkart or Lava’s official channels before purchasing.

Competitors to watch

In the same broad price range, the Lava Virat Curve 5G may compete with phones like Infinix Hot 70 Pro 5G, OnePlus N6 5G, Moto G-series models and other mid-range 5G phones under Rs. 25,000.

Its main advantage is the mix of curved AMOLED display, large battery, clean Android experience and rear mini display. However, buyers who want stronger gaming performance or more advanced camera systems should compare reviews before deciding.
