India’s startup funding market stayed busy between July 25 and August 9, 2026. The period had a healthy mix of big growth-stage cheques, early AI rounds, EV funding, consumer brands, fintech and deeptech investments/funding.

The mood was not one-sided. Investors backed large companies such as River Mobility, Freehand, BUSINESSNEXT, Arboreal Bioinnovations and Apna Mart, but they also wrote smaller cheques for young startups in drones, beauty, bioenergy, student housing and AI software.

This roundup covers the publicly reported funding rounds I could verify from this period. Some deals were announced during the window but may have closed earlier. Undisclosed rounds are included where reliable reports mentioned them.

Funding mood – EV, AI and practical commerce stood out

The biggest theme was electric mobility. River Mobility raised $120 million, making it the largest reported startup round in the August 3 to August 7 week. Omega Seiki Mobility, Matel, RoadGrid and Adiabatic Technologies also raised money, showing that investors are still interested in the EV supply chain, not just flashy consumer vehicles.

AI was the other strong pocket. Freehand raised $75 million to scale AI agents for enterprise supply-chain spend management. Smaller AI-led startups such as Pinegap, Superleap, Kily, Hulp, Consint.AI, Profound and NYAI also attracted capital.

The third theme was practical commerce. HomeRun and Fixxly are both trying to bring faster delivery models to construction and building materials. Apna Mart is taking grocery commerce deeper into smaller cities. These are not “nice-to-have” ideas. They solve everyday supply problems, which makes them easier for investors to understand.

Competitor angle – Who is chasing the same markets?

The funding also shows where competition is heating up.

In quick commerce and construction supply, HomeRun and Fixxly are chasing a market where speed, local inventory and trust matter. Traditional dealers, local hardware shops and emerging B2B commerce players will all be part of the fight.

In EVs, River Mobility, Omega Seiki Mobility, Matel and RoadGrid are playing in a sector where they face established auto companies, battery players and fleet operators.

In AI, the field is crowded but wide open. Freehand is focused on enterprise supply-chain workflows, while Superleap, Kily, Pinegap, Hulp and Profound are attacking different business and consumer use cases.

Conclusion – Key takeaways

India startup funding between July 25 and August 9, 2026 showed three clear signals. First, investors are still writing big cheques when the business is serious and the market is large. Second, AI remains hot, but the money is going to more specific use cases. Third, EVs, deeptech and practical commerce continue to attract patient capital.

The most important rounds to watch are River Mobility, Freehand, Arboreal Bioinnovations, Apna Mart, HomeRun and Solinas Integrity. These companies sit in sectors where India’s next growth story could be built.

Mumbai-based fintech platform GetVantage has raised Rs. 63 crore in a Series A1 round to expand its financing support for India’s small businesses. The round is a hybrid capital infusion, which means it includes both equity and debt.

The fresh funding takes GetVantage’s total committed funding capacity to more than Rs. 700 crore. The company will use the money to scale its “Capital Gateway” initiative, which is built to make growth capital more accessible for MSMEs across India.

This update matters because small businesses often struggle to get timely funds. Banks may ask for collateral. Venture capital may demand equity. Informal borrowing can be costly. GetVantage is trying to offer another route, where businesses can raise capital based on their revenue performance.

What GetVantage does

GetVantage is an embedded finance and growth capital platform for MSMEs, startups and digital-first businesses.

In simple words, it helps growing companies access working capital without giving up ownership. A business can use the money for inventory, marketing, hiring, logistics, expansion, or seasonal demand.

For example, a D2C skincare brand may need Rs. 50 lakh before a festive sale to buy inventory and run ads. A restaurant-tech business may need money to expand into new cities. A B2B SaaS company may need capital to hire salespeople. GetVantage offers funding based on business data and future revenue potential.

The company says it provides equity-free funding of up to Rs. 20 crore, depending on the business profile.

Founders and founding year

GetVantage was founded in 2020 by Bhavik Vasa and Amit Srivastava.

Bhavik Vasa is the founder and CEO. He has experience across fintech, ecommerce, digital payments and mobile technology. Amit Srivastava is the co-founder and CTO, with experience in financial services and technology.

The company is headquartered in Mumbai and also has a presence in Noida.

Why this Rs. 63 crore funding matters

The new funding is important because MSME financing remains a large gap in India.

Many small businesses are strong in sales but weak in formal credit access. They may not have enough collateral, long credit history, or paperwork that traditional lenders prefer. This becomes a problem when they need money quickly.

GetVantage wants to solve this through data-led financing. Instead of judging a business only through old-style paperwork, it looks at revenue data, payment flows, ecommerce sales, marketing data and business performance.

This can make funding faster and more flexible for small businesses that are already generating revenue.

What is Capital Gateway

Capital Gateway is GetVantage’s financing initiative for MSMEs.

The idea is to create a smoother way for small businesses to access capital from different funding partners. The platform connects businesses with financing options using technology, data and embedded finance tools.

Embedded finance means financial services are built into the platforms where businesses already operate. For example, an ecommerce seller may receive a funding offer inside a marketplace or business tool, instead of applying separately through a bank branch.

This can save time and reduce friction.

How GetVantage’s model works

GetVantage follows a revenue-based financing model.

This means a business can raise money and repay it through a small share of future revenue. Unlike a traditional fixed loan, repayment can move with business performance.

If revenue is strong, repayment may happen faster. If sales are slower, the repayment burden can be more flexible.

This model is useful for businesses with seasonal sales. A fashion brand may sell more during festivals. A food brand may see spikes during holidays. A school supplies company may earn more during admission season. Revenue-linked repayment can match such cycles better than a rigid monthly EMI.

Why MSMEs need flexible capital

MSMEs are the backbone of India’s economy, but many of them operate with tight cash flow.

A business may have orders but not enough money to buy inventory. A seller may want to run ads but cannot block cash for marketing. A manufacturer may need raw material before receiving payment from buyers.

These are not always long-term funding needs. Many are short-term growth needs.

That is why platforms like GetVantage can be useful. They help businesses unlock capital without immediately selling equity or pledging heavy collateral.

Sectors GetVantage supports

GetVantage works with businesses across more than 25 sectors, according to its official website.

These include ecommerce, D2C brands, wholesalers, B2B SaaS, mobile apps, subscription businesses and offline businesses with strong revenue data.

The company says it has built a portfolio of nearly 2,000 businesses since 2020. Its website also mentions more than Rs. 7,500 crore in total GMV funded and a 71 percent repeat customer rate.

These numbers show that GetVantage is not only chasing one type of startup. Its target market is wider: small businesses that need fast and flexible capital to grow.

Competitors and market view

GetVantage operates in a competitive fintech and alternative lending market.

Its competitors include revenue-based financing platforms, digital lending startups, NBFCs, embedded finance companies and working capital providers. Names in the broader space include Velocity, Klub, Niro, Recur Club, KredX, Lendingkart and FlexiLoans.

Traditional banks and NBFCs are also competitors, especially as they become more digital.

GetVantage’s edge is its revenue-linked model, embedded finance approach and own RBI-licensed NBFC through GetGrowth Capital. This gives it more control over financing products and compliance.

Future of GetVantage

The future opportunity is large if GetVantage can scale responsibly.

India has millions of MSMEs, and many are becoming more digital through UPI, ecommerce marketplaces, payment gateways, accounting tools and online ads. This creates data trails that can help lenders understand business health better.

GetVantage can use this shift to offer smarter funding products. It may also expand partnerships with ecommerce platforms, payment companies, logistics players and SaaS tools that already serve MSMEs.

But the company will need to manage risk carefully. Small business lending can be tricky. Revenue may fall, customers may delay payments, and some sectors may be hit by sudden market changes. Strong underwriting and collections discipline will be important.

Conclusion with key takeaways

GetVantage’s Rs. 63 crore Series A1 funding is a timely boost for India’s MSME financing market. The company is trying to make business capital faster, fairer and more flexible for small companies that may not fit traditional bank lending models.

Founded in 2020 by Bhavik Vasa and Amit Srivastava, GetVantage has built a revenue-based financing platform for startups, MSMEs and digital businesses. With Capital Gateway, it now wants to widen access to funding across India.
