Mental healthcare provider Amaha is raising Rs. 100 crore to expand its network of hospitals, clinics and digital care services in India. The round includes Rs. 10 crore in debt financing from Alteria Capital.

The funding comes as more people seek structured mental healthcare, but access to specialists and treatment facilities remains uneven across cities. Amaha’s plan is to combine digital consultations with physical centres and hospital-based care for people who need more intensive support.

Who founded Amaha and what does it do

Amaha, previously known as InnerHour, was founded in 2016 by psychiatrist and entrepreneur Dr. Amit Malik. Social entrepreneur Neha Kirpal joined as co-founder in 2019.

The company offers mental healthcare support through a mix of therapy, psychiatry, digital tools, outpatient clinics and hospital services. Its focus covers a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, addiction, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

Amaha’s model is based on the idea that people may need different kinds of support at different stages. Someone may begin with an online consultation, while another person may require regular clinical appointments or hospital-based treatment.

Who is investing in the Rs. 100 crore round

Existing investors Lightbox Ventures and Fireside Ventures are participating in Amaha’s latest round. Other backers include London-based Sandbox International Holdings, Nithin Kamath’s Rainmatter, and family offices linked to Shreyas Shibulal, Ashish Bharat Ram and entrepreneur Adarsh Jalan.

Of the Rs. 100 crore being raised, Rs. 10 crore is debt funding from Alteria Capital. Unlike equity funding, debt is borrowed capital that must be repaid under agreed terms.

The company has not publicly disclosed the valuation, ownership changes or individual investment amounts.

Where Amaha plans to use the money

Amaha plans to use the funding to open more hospitals and outpatient clinics in key Indian cities. It also aims to add to its clinical team and invest in specialist treatment systems.

One immediate expansion step is a planned 55-bed mental health hospital in South Bengaluru, expected to begin operations by December 2026. It would become Amaha’s second hospital facility in the city as per Ascendants.

The company also plans to use AI-enabled tools for patient triage and data analytics. Triage means an initial assessment that helps a care provider understand the level and type of support a person may need. Such tools can assist clinical teams with organization and coordination, but they do not replace a qualified mental health professional’s judgement.

Why the expansion matters

Amaha currently operates centres in Bengaluru, Delhi NCR and Mumbai. Its expansion may improve access to organized mental healthcare, especially for people who need care beyond a single online session.

The company will compete with hospital mental-health departments, therapy networks, psychiatric clinics and digital mental-health platforms. The harder task will be maintaining consistent clinical quality as the physical network grows.

For patients and families, the value of an integrated network is simple – a smoother path from assessment and consultation to ongoing support when needed.

India’s startup funding market is seeing activity across both consumer products and deep technology. Beyond Appliances has raised $10.4 million in Series B funding, while quantum technology company QpiAI has secured Rs. 50 crore through debt financing from InnoVen Capital.

Although both companies have raised money, their needs are very different. Beyond Appliances is focused on building and selling smart kitchen products for Indian homes. QpiAI is working on advanced computing systems that combine artificial intelligence with quantum technology.

Beyond Appliances funding and business focus

Founded in 2024 by Eshwar K. Vikas and Rakesh Patil, Bengaluru-based Beyond Appliances makes technology-led kitchen products.

Its portfolio includes smart chimneys, hobs and cooktops designed around the way Indian households cook. The founders previously worked on Mukunda Foods, a company that develops automation solutions for commercial kitchens.

The company’s latest Series B round is worth Rs. 110 crore, or around $10.4 million. Fireside Ventures led the round, with participation from Dharana Capital and other investors. Fireside had also backed the company in earlier funding rounds as reported in Entrepreneur India.

The money will be used for research and development, a new manufacturing plant and expansion into more kitchen categories. The company is also preparing to enter the oven segment and plans to grow its offline presence beyond its current markets.

This is important because kitchen appliances require more than a good online campaign. Customers often want to see the product, understand installation and receive reliable after-sales service before buying. Beyond Appliances is therefore combining online sales with retail stores and experience centres.

Its competition includes established brands such as Faber, Elica, Glen, IFB and Prestige. However, Beyond Appliances is trying to stand apart through smart features, local product design and a direct relationship with customers.

QpiAI debt financing and technology plans

QpiAI was founded in 2019 by Dr. Nagendra Nagaraja. The Bengaluru-based company develops quantum computers, quantum software and artificial intelligence tools for areas such as drug discovery, manufacturing, finance and materials research.

The company has raised Rs. 50 crore in debt financing from InnoVen Capital. Reports based on company filings say the amount was structured through non-convertible debentures carrying an annual coupon of 13.85 percent and maturing in December 2028 as reported in BharatFast.

Unlike equity funding, debt does not immediately give the lender ownership in the company. It works more like a business loan that must be repaid with interest. The company has not publicly disclosed the exact use of this funding.

Still, the capital could support hardware development, research, hiring and the building of quantum computing infrastructure. QpiAI has previously worked on a 25-qubit quantum computer and has outlined a long-term plan to expand its systems.

Comparable Indian deep-tech companies include BosonQ Psi and QNu Labs, although they work on different areas of the quantum technology ecosystem. QpiAI’s distinctive focus is the combination of quantum hardware, software and AI applications.

Why these two deals matter

Beyond Appliances represents India’s growing consumer manufacturing opportunity. Its funding will help move the company from a small product range to wider manufacturing and distribution.

QpiAI’s debt round shows that investors are willing to support capital-intensive deep-tech businesses through instruments beyond traditional equity. However, debt also creates repayment pressure, making revenue growth and future fundraising important.

Conclusion with key takeaways

Beyond Appliances will use its $10.4 million Series B funding to improve products, build manufacturing capacity and expand across Indian kitchens.

QpiAI’s Rs. 50 crore debt financing will provide additional capital for its quantum computing and AI roadmap, although the company has not specified the exact spending plan.

The two deals highlight two sides of India’s startup economy – practical consumer innovation and long-term deep-tech research.

Two Indian companies from very different industries have announced fresh funding of Rs. 100 crore each. Arovia Consumer is targeting regional packaged-food brands, while Balwaan Krishi is focused on affordable farm machinery.

Although both companies are raising the same amount, their goals are different. Arovia wants to help local food businesses grow across India. Balwaan plans to improve farm-equipment production, expand its dealer network and build smarter machines for farmers.

Arovia Consumer plans to build a regional food portfolio

Arovia Consumer has raised Rs. 100 crore from Fireside Ventures.

The company was launched by Prashant Parameswaran, who previously founded the health-food brand Soulfull.

Soulfull was later acquired by Tata Consumer Products in 2021 as per Business Standard.

Arovia is not being built as just one packaged-food brand. Its plan is to partner with promising regional and family-owned food businesses that already have customer loyalty, local distribution and established supply chains.

Many food brands are popular in one city or state but struggle to expand beyond their home market. Arovia wants to support these businesses with capital, marketing knowledge, professional management and wider distribution.

For example, a traditional snacks brand popular in Kochi may have strong demand in Kerala but limited presence in Maharashtra or Delhi. Arovia could help such a company improve packaging, enter online marketplaces, build retail partnerships and launch in new regions.

The company is looking at markets including Kochi, Pune, Coimbatore, Madurai, Mysuru, Mangalore, Surat and Indore. Its broader aim is to create a group of strong Indian food brands while working with their existing promoter families.

The investment comes from Fireside Ventures’ fourth fund. Fireside has a strong focus on consumer businesses and offers support in areas such as distribution, branding, consumer research and business operations.

Balwaan Krishi targets affordable farm mechanization

Balwaan Krishi has raised Rs. 100 crore in a Series B round led by First Bridge India Growth Fund Private Equity.

The company was founded by Rohit Bajaj and Shubham Bajaj and operates in the agricultural machinery sector.

As per ET, Balwaan makes equipment such as power weeders, battery sprayers and other machines designed for Indian farming conditions. Its products are aimed particularly at small and marginal farmers who may not be able to afford large tractors or expensive imported equipment.

The new funding will be used for three main purposes. First, Balwaan plans to increase its manufacturing capacity in India. This can give the company better control over product quality, supply and delivery timelines.

Second, it wants to strengthen its dealer and service network in southern India. Farm machinery needs regular maintenance, spare parts and local support. A wider service network can make farmers more comfortable purchasing the equipment.

Third, Balwaan plans to develop next-generation machines with features such as predictive maintenance and Internet of Things technology. In practical terms, connected equipment may help identify problems earlier and reduce downtime during the farming season.

More than four lakh farmers are currently using Balwaan equipment, according to the company. Its products generally fall in the Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 1 lakh price range, making affordability a central part of its business model.

How the two businesses are different

Arovia Consumer is working on a brand-building and expansion model. It wants to identify local food businesses and help them reach more customers and markets.

Balwaan Krishi is building a product and distribution business for agriculture. Its success will depend on manufacturing quality, dealer availability, after-sales service and whether farmers see clear value in its equipment.

Both companies, however, are addressing large and underdeveloped markets. Arovia is looking at regional food brands that have not yet scaled nationally. Balwaan is targeting farmers who need practical machinery but have limited purchasing power.

Conclusion with key takeaways

Arovia Consumer and Balwaan Krishi have each raised Rs. 100 crore, but the purpose of the funding is different.

Arovia will use the capital to partner with regional packaged-food businesses and help them expand beyond their local markets. Balwaan will invest in manufacturing, southern India distribution, service support and smarter farm equipment.

The next phase will show whether Arovia can turn regional brands into national businesses and whether Balwaan can make farm mechanization more accessible to Indian farmers.

Fixxly has raised $5.5 million in seed funding to build an AI-powered procurement and delivery platform for building materials. The round was backed by Accel, Fireside Ventures and Lightspeed India Partners.

The Bengaluru-based startup is preparing for its commercial launch on September 1, 2026. It plans to start operations in Bengaluru before expanding to other Indian cities.

This is not a regular quick commerce story. Fixxly is not trying to deliver snacks or groceries. It wants to solve a daily problem at construction, renovation and repair sites, where work can stop because one small item is missing.

What Fixxly does

Fixxly is building a quick delivery platform for construction and home-improvement materials. Its planned product categories include plywood, paint, electrical items, lighting, plumbing materials, hardware and other trade essentials.

The platform is aimed at contractors, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, painters, interior designers and homeowners.

For example, if a plumber reaches a site and realises one fitting is missing, the usual option is to leave the site and search nearby shops. That wastes time. Fixxly wants to make such materials available quickly, with some orders delivered in as little as 30 minutes.

Founders and purpose

Fixxly was founded in 2026 by Shezan Bhojani and Sachith Varma.

Bhojani earlier co-founded DesignCafe and has spent more than two decades in the home-improvement sector. That experience matters because building materials are not easy to manage. There are many product types, sizes, brands and urgent use cases.

The startup’s purpose is simple – reduce work-site delays caused by missing materials. Its larger aim is to make construction procurement faster, more predictable and less dependent on last-minute store visits.

Use of funding

Fixxly will use the $5.5 million seed funding to strengthen its technology platform and expand operations before launch.

The company plans to use local dark stores and AI-led order matching. In simple terms, its system will try to match customer orders with nearby stock, location and demand in real time.

This matters because quick delivery works only when the right products are stored close to the customer. If inventory planning is poor, a 30-minute promise becomes hard to keep.

What makes Fixxly different

Fixxly is applying the quick commerce model to a more serious work category.

In grocery delivery, speed brings convenience. In building materials, speed can save labour hours and prevent project delays.

Its AI-powered platform may help contractors check availability, place urgent orders and get products without stopping work. If done well, this can be useful for small repair jobs, home renovation projects and interior work.

Competitors

Fixxly will compete with traditional hardware shops, local suppliers and construction procurement platforms. Larger companies like Infra.Market and OfBusiness work in broader B2B building material supply, while newer startups are also trying to solve fast delivery and procurement gaps.

Fixxly’s focus is different because it is going after urgent, smaller and faster site-level orders.

Conclusion with key takeaways

Fixxly’s $5.5 million seed round shows that quick commerce is moving beyond consumer convenience. The startup is targeting a real problem in construction and renovation – delays caused by unavailable materials.

If Fixxly can deliver the right item quickly and reliably, it could become a useful partner for contractors and home-improvement professionals.

Anmasa has raised Rs. 30 crore in seed funding to scale its fresh staples business across India. The round was led by Fireside Ventures, with participation from Blume Ventures, existing investors and HNIs.

The startup is not trying to sell groceries in the usual packaged-food way. Its bet is more local and more personal. Anmasa runs neighbourhood micro-factories where staples like stone-ground flour, wood-pressed oils and freshly milled spices are prepared after an order is placed.

That is a very different approach from regular supermarket shelves, where flour and spices may sit in packets for weeks. Anmasa wants to bring back the old habit of freshly milled staples, but with the convenience of modern ordering and fast delivery.

What Anmasa does

Anmasa is a fresh staples startup focused on everyday kitchen essentials. It offers products across nine categories and more than 200 SKUs.

Its key products include fresh flour, pulses, wood-pressed oils, freshly milled spices and customized staples. Customers can choose multigrain blends, regional flour types and grind textures based on their food habits.

The company operates nine company-owned stores, with five in Gurugram and four in Noida. Each store also works like a local fulfilment point. Orders are prepared close to customers and delivered quickly, with reported delivery within 90 minutes.

Founder and background

Anmasa was founded by Yatish Talvadia and Shailendra Upadhyay.

Yatish Talvadia is the Founder and Chief Experience Officer of Anmasa. He earlier founded Milkbasket, a grocery delivery startup that was acquired by Reliance Retail. Shailendra Upadhyay previously founded Veggie India, which was acquired by Milkbasket in 2019.

The founding year of Anmasa was earlier reported as 2024 in public startup coverage.

Funding details

Anmasa has raised Rs. 30 crore in seed funding led by Fireside Ventures. Blume Ventures, existing investors and high-net-worth individuals also joined the round.

With this latest round, the company has raised Rs. 47 crore, or around $5 million, so far. Earlier to this, the startup raised $1.1 million in pre-seed funding in August, 2025.

The money will be used to deepen Anmasa’s presence in Delhi-NCR, enter Bengaluru, expand into more metro markets and strengthen its supply chain technology.

The startup plans to cross 15 outlets in the current financial year. Bengaluru is expected to launch by mid-September, with Hyderabad or Pune likely to follow after that.

Startup aim and purpose

Anmasa’s purpose is simple – make daily staples fresher, more customizable and closer to the consumer.

Most Indian homes use flour, oils, pulses and spices every day. These are not occasional products. They affect taste, health, cooking habits and family trust. Yet many consumers buy them from packets without knowing when they were milled, how long they have been stored, or whether the product suits their diet.

Anmasa is trying to solve that gap through local manufacturing. Its idea is that food should adapt to the consumer, not the other way around.

For example, one family may want coarse wheat flour for rotis. Another may want a special multigrain mix. Someone else may prefer a regional flour blend. Anmasa’s model allows that kind of personalization.

Why micro-factories matter

The most interesting part of Anmasa’s model is its neighbourhood micro-factory network.

A micro-factory is a small local production unit. Instead of making everything in one large factory and shipping packets across cities, Anmasa prepares staples closer to where customers live.

This matters because fresh flour has a shorter natural shelf life than regular packaged flour. If it is made close to the customer, the product can reach homes faster and feel fresher.

It also gives the brand more control over the customer journey, from sourcing and processing to fulfilment and delivery.

Business traction

Anmasa has reportedly grown 23 times over the past 12 months across Gurugram and Noida.

The company says 70 percent of its direct-to-consumer revenue comes from repeat customers. That is important in staples because repeat buying is the real test. A customer may try a new flour once, but if they return every month, the brand has entered the kitchen habit.

Its blended average order value is around Rs. 800. Around 85 percent of orders come online, while 15 percent come through store walk-ins.

All stores are reportedly EBITDA positive, and the company is targeting an exit ARR of Rs. 150 crore this financial year.

Why Anmasa is avoiding quick commerce

This is one of the more interesting choices. Despite the rise of quick commerce, Anmasa has no plan to list on those platforms for now.

That may sound surprising, because groceries sell well on quick commerce apps. But Anmasa wants to own the entire journey, from sourcing and manufacturing to delivery and personalzation.

The risk of quick commerce is that a brand can become just another item in a crowded app. Anmasa wants the customer to understand freshness, customization and local preparation. That story is easier to tell when the brand owns the channel.

Competitors

Anmasa competes with many different types of players.

In packaged staples, it competes with brands like Aashirvaad, Fortune, Pillsbury, Tata Sampann and regional flour and oil brands. In fresh and organic groceries, it competes with local mills, organic stores and D2C food brands. It also indirectly competes with quick commerce platforms that deliver staples instantly.

Its differentiation is freshness and customization. The challenge is whether enough customers will pay for that experience regularly.

Challenges ahead

Anmasa’s model is promising, but it is operationally demanding.

Running micro-factories across cities needs quality control, trained staff, supply chain discipline and consistent sourcing. Fresh products also leave less room for inventory mistakes.

The company must also keep pricing sensible. Staples are price-sensitive. A premium can work if customers clearly feel better taste, freshness or health value, but the gap cannot become too large.

Expansion will be another test. What works in Gurugram and Noida may need changes in Bengaluru, Hyderabad or Pune because food habits differ by city.

Conclusion – Key takeaways

Anmasa’s Rs. 30 crore seed funding led by Fireside Ventures gives the startup fresh capital to scale its hyperlocal staples model.

The company wants to make everyday staples fresher by preparing flour, oils and spices close to customers through neighbourhood micro-factories. It has raised Rs. 47 crore so far and plans to expand beyond Delhi-NCR into Bengaluru and other metros.

For Anmasa, the opportunity is large because staples are bought again and again. The challenge is equally real – freshness, quality, pricing and operations must stay consistent as the brand grows.

D2C Insider, one of India’s known communities for direct-to-consumer founders, is now moving from community building to venture investing. Its new fund, ConsumerX Ventures, has been launched with a target corpus of Rs. 150 crore and will focus on early-stage consumer startups. For young D2C founders, this is an important development. Many consumer brands in India do not fail because the product is bad. They struggle because they do not get the right early capital, retail guidance, supply chain help, or founder-level mentorship. ConsumerX Ventures is trying to solve that gap with an operator-led model.

In simple words, this fund is built for founders who are creating modern consumer brands for India. That could mean a skincare brand for Gen Z buyers, a healthy snacks company selling through quick commerce, a pet care brand, a home lifestyle startup, or even a software company helping D2C brands sell better.

What ConsumerX Ventures Is

ConsumerX Ventures is a new early-stage venture capital fund from D2C Insider. According to reports, it is structured as a SEBI-approved Category II Alternative Investment Fund, or AIF. AIF is a regulated investment structure used by private funds in India.

The fund has a target corpus of Rs. 150 crore. It plans to invest in around 25 early-stage D2C brands and enabler startups. The focus will mainly be on pre-seed and seed-stage companies.

Pre-seed and seed stages are the early funding stages of a startup. At this point, a founder may already have a product, some customers, and early sales, but the brand is still far from becoming large. This is where the right investor can make a big difference.

ConsumerX Ventures is expected to write cheques of around Rs. 3 crore to Rs. 5 crore per startup. It may take around 10 percent to 15 percent ownership in portfolio companies. The fund also plans to keep 40 percent of its corpus for follow-on investments, which means it can invest again in the best-performing companies later.

The People Behind D2C Insider And The Fund

D2C Insider started in 2019 as a WhatsApp group for digital brand founders. Over time, it grew into a wider ecosystem of D2C founders, enablers, operators, and investors.

Its founding members include well-known names from India’s consumer startup world, such as Arjun Vaidya of V3 Ventures, Aman Gupta of boAt, Ghazal Alagh of Mamaearth, Hitesh Dhingra of The Man Company, Tarun Sharma of mCaffeine, Aditya Khanna of Assembly, Manish Chowdhary of WOW Skin Science, and Mohit Sadaani of The Moms Co.

ConsumerX Ventures will be led by Abhishek Shah as Managing Partner. Chhavi Bhardwaj Kargaonkar, who has been associated with D2C Insider’s Super Angels Fund, will serve as Partner.

This matters because consumer startups need more than financial spreadsheets. They need people who understand product, packaging, distribution, marketplaces, customer acquisition cost, offline expansion, and repeat purchases. A fund backed by operators may be better placed to guide founders through these problems.

The Model – Capital Plus Operator Support

The model of ConsumerX Ventures is not just about giving money and waiting for returns. It appears to be built around active support. Many early D2C brands face the same problems. They can create a good product, but they may not know how to price it correctly. They may sell well on Instagram but struggle on marketplaces. They may get quick-commerce listings but fail to manage inventory. They may spend too much on ads and still not get repeat customers.

ConsumerX Ventures wants to use D2C Insider’s community strength to help in these areas. Since the community already includes founders, CXOs, investors, and enablers, portfolio startups may get access to practical advice from people who have built or scaled consumer brands before.

The fund’s reported goal is to help startups move toward Rs. 100 crore in revenue and become ready for Series A funding within about 18 months. That is ambitious, but it also shows the kind of companies the fund may prefer. It will likely look for founders who already have early traction and can scale fast with the right push.

Who This Fund Is For

ConsumerX Ventures is mainly for early-stage consumer brands and D2C enabler companies. A D2C brand sells directly to consumers, usually through its own website, marketplaces, quick commerce, social platforms, or offline retail. Examples include beauty, personal care, food and beverages, fashion, home, wellness, footwear, pet care, and lifestyle products.

An enabler startup helps these brands grow. This could include companies working in logistics, inventory planning, customer engagement, marketing tools, brand analytics, packaging, creator commerce, or marketplace management.

For example, a young skincare brand with strong repeat purchases may fit the fund’s focus. A healthy food brand selling through Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, Amazon, and its own website may also be relevant. A software platform that helps D2C brands track customer behavior and reduce returns could also be a good fit.

However, this fund may not be ideal for every small business. A founder with only an idea and no product may find it difficult. ConsumerX Ventures will likely prefer startups that can show some demand, a clear customer group, sensible pricing, and a path to profitable growth.

Why This Matters For India’s Consumer Market

India’s consumer market is changing quickly. Young buyers are more open to new brands. Tier-II and Tier-III cities are becoming important markets. Quick commerce has made discovery faster. Social media has made it easier for small brands to reach customers.

At the same time, D2C has become harder than before. Advertising costs are high. Discounts can hurt margins. Online marketplaces are competitive. Offline retail needs working capital. Customers expect fast delivery, good packaging, and easy returns.

This is why early-stage consumer brands need patient and informed capital. A founder building a shampoo brand, for example, does not only need money for ads. They need help with formulation, repeat purchase cycles, retail strategy, supply chain, and margin control.

ConsumerX Ventures is entering at this exact point. It is trying to become a bridge between early consumer brands and larger venture capital rounds.

Competitors And Market Context

ConsumerX Ventures will compete with several consumer-focused investors in India.

Fireside Ventures is one of the best-known early-stage consumer brand investors in the country. DSG Consumer Partners has also backed consumer brands in India and Southeast Asia. Sixth Sense Ventures calls itself a consumer-focused venture fund and has been active in the space for years. RPSG Capital Ventures also invests in consumer brands across areas such as food and beverage, personal care, and lifestyle.

Apart from these, general VC funds such as Accel, Peak XV Partners, Elevation Capital, Blume Ventures, and Stellaris Venture Partners also look at consumer startups when the opportunity is strong.

The difference with ConsumerX Ventures is its community-first origin. It is coming from a founder network, not only from a traditional fund setup. That may help it discover promising brands early and support them through hands-on operator connections.

Conclusion With Key Takeaways

ConsumerX Ventures is a timely move by D2C Insider. India has many strong consumer founders, but early-stage D2C funding is still difficult, especially for brands that need both capital and operating support. The Rs. 150 crore fund is designed for pre-seed and seed-stage D2C brands and enabler startups. With cheque sizes of around Rs. 3 crore to Rs. 5 crore, the fund can give young companies enough room to build products, strengthen distribution, improve brand positioning, and prepare for larger funding rounds.

Key takeaways

ConsumerX Ventures is a Rs. 150 crore consumer-focused fund by D2C Insider.

It will focus on early-stage D2C brands and enabler startups.

The fund plans to invest in around 25 companies.

Its model combines capital with operator-led support.
