Two Indian startups from very different industries have announced fresh funding. Consumer-tech company EDT has raised $2.4 million in a Pre-Series A round led by Sauce. Healthcare technology startup Prodoc AI has also raised an undisclosed seed round led by the Dr A. Velumani Family Office.

EDT is moving from kitchen appliances into beauty-tech, while Prodoc AI is building an artificial intelligence layer for hospitals. Both companies are using technology to improve everyday experiences, but their customers and business models are very different.

EDT expands from appliances to beauty-tech

EDT was founded in 2025 by Naiyya Saggi and industrial designer Vyasateja Rao.

The company began with kitchen and home appliances and is now expanding into personal-care technology.

Its Pre-Series A round was led by existing investor Sauce, with participation from Alteria Capital, Raul Rai, Shibam Das, Arindam Paul, Ajith Pai and Anushree Tainwala as per ETRetail.

The startup plans to use the money to build inventory ahead of the festive season, launch new products and strengthen its supply-chain, product, brand and growth teams.

EDT currently sells through its own website and platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit and Croma. Its kitchen portfolio includes products such as air fryers, electric kettles and related accessories.

What is SUKI

SUKI is EDT’s first product in beauty-tech. It is a hair-drying device built around a proprietary heat and airflow system. The product uses sensors to adjust drying conditions based on hair and airflow-related factors.

The company’s larger goal is to bring its design and technology approach into personal care. Instead of selling only standard appliances, EDT wants to build a broader consumer technology brand covering home, kitchen and beauty products.

SUKI will first be sold through EDT’s direct-to-consumer platform. The company plans to add marketplaces and offline retail channels later. Three more products are also planned across the home, kitchen and beauty categories.

EDT will compete with established appliance and beauty-device brands. Its challenge will be to convince customers that its design, technology and user experience justify choosing a newer brand over familiar names.

Prodoc AI builds an intelligence layer for hospitals

Prodoc AI has raised seed funding from the Dr A. Velumani Family Office. Dr Kunal Shet and Parth D. Bhasin also participated in the round, according to a report. The amount raised has not been disclosed.

The startup was founded by Asit Kumar Vidyarthi and Raghuvamshi Thakur. Abhijeet Joshi is its Chief Product Officer. Prodoc also works with healthcare advisors, including Arokiaswamy Velumani, founder of Thyrocare.

Prodoc describes its product as a Patient Journey Operating System for hospitals. It connects patient acquisition, appointments, outpatient care, inpatient services, follow-ups and post-discharge communication.

Hospitals often use separate systems for records, billing, laboratory services, communication and appointments. Prodoc aims to connect these systems without forcing hospitals to replace their existing software.

Its AI tools can help with appointment follow-ups, patient communication, lead conversion, care coordination and routine administrative work. The company says its goal is to reduce manual work while keeping doctors and hospital staff involved in important decisions.

How Prodoc AI plans to use the funding

The new capital will support the development of Prodoc’s agentic AI capabilities, more software integrations and intelligent workflows for hospitals.

For example, an AI agent may remind a patient about a follow-up appointment, route a query to the correct department or help a hospital team track a patient’s progress. The system is designed to assist care teams rather than independently make clinical decisions.

Prodoc’s wider mission is to make healthcare more connected and patient-focused. It competes with hospital-management platforms, communication software and healthtech companies offering AI automation. Its difference lies in trying to connect the entire patient journey instead of solving only one part of hospital operations.
