Semiconductor engineering company Tessolve has raised $75 million, around Rs. 725 crore, from US-based Vector Line Capital. The investment will support acquisitions, wider service offerings and international expansion as per Equitypandit.

Tessolve is a Hero Electronix company backed by the Hero Group. The new investment is also Vector Line Capital’s first investment in India. Existing investors TPG and Novo Tellus Capital Partners continue to support the company.

What does Tessolve do

Founded in 2004, Tessolve provides engineering services across the semiconductor development cycle. Its work covers chip architecture, design, validation, testing and embedded systems.

In simple terms, a company developing a new chip can work with Tessolve at different stages, from early design checks to testing the finished silicon. This helps chip companies reduce development risks and bring products to market more quickly.

Tessolve works in areas such as artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, automotive electronics, data centres and industrial technology. The company also supports semiconductor companies, hyperscalers, chip startups and system manufacturers.

According to company information cited in media reports, Tessolve has more than 3,500 engineers across 10 countries and operates nine laboratories globally. It also says that it works with 18 of the world’s 20 largest semiconductor companies.

Why is the funding important

Modern chips are becoming more complex because they are used in AI servers, electric vehicles, smartphones, connected devices and advanced industrial systems.

Chip companies now need partners that can handle more than one specialized task. A company capable of working across design, validation and testing can help customers manage the development process more efficiently.

Tessolve wants to strengthen this end-to-end capability. The investment from Vector Line brings not only capital but also access to an investor focused exclusively on semiconductors and the chip supply chain.

For India, the deal highlights the growing importance of semiconductor design and engineering services. While chip manufacturing requires large factories, engineering companies such as Tessolve contribute through design knowledge, testing infrastructure and skilled talent.

How will Tessolve use the money

The main purpose of the fundraise is to support strategic acquisitions. Tessolve is reportedly in advanced discussions to close multiple deals over the next two quarters.

The target companies have not been publicly named. However, the planned acquisitions are expected to add technical skills, expand Tessolve’s service range and strengthen its presence in new markets.

Acquisitions can help Tessolve grow faster than building every capability internally. For example, buying a company with specialist automotive-chip expertise or testing laboratories could immediately add people, customer relationships and technology.

The company also plans to continue investing in engineering platforms, laboratories and global delivery centres. Tessolve previously raised $150 million from TPG in 2025, while Novo Tellus invested $40 million in 2021.

Tessolve’s position in the market

Tessolve competes in the global semiconductor engineering services market. Its rivals include large technology service companies and specialist chip-design firms that offer services such as verification, testing, embedded engineering and product development.

The company’s main difference is its effort to provide a broad, end-to-end service instead of focusing on only one part of the chip lifecycle. Its global laboratories and experience across AI, automotive and high-performance computing also support this positioning.

The challenge will be integrating acquisitions successfully while maintaining quality, customer trust and engineering talent.

Conclusion with key takeaways –

Tessolve’s $75 million fundraise is aimed at building a larger global semiconductor engineering business. The company plans to use the capital mainly for acquisitions that add expertise, services and international reach.

The deal also shows that investors see opportunities beyond chip manufacturing. Design, validation and testing are becoming equally important as AI, electric vehicles and data centres increase demand for advanced semiconductors.

Disclaimer

Funding amounts, acquisition plans and business targets are based on public announcements and media reports. Tessolve has not publicly disclosed the names of its planned acquisition targets or the valuation involved in the transaction.

Agrani Labs is reportedly close to raising around $50 million, or nearly Rs. 475 crore, in a fresh funding round led by Peak XV Partners. The deal is still under discussion, and it is not a closed round yet.

The Bengaluru-based semiconductor startup is working in one of the most watched areas of technology today which is AI computing. As companies train and run larger AI models, demand for powerful chips has grown sharply. Agrani Labs wants to build high-performance GPUs and software for enterprise and data centre use.

What Agrani Labs does

Agrani Labs is building AI GPUs and the software stack needed to run them.

A GPU, or graphics processing unit, is a chip that can handle many calculations at the same time. Earlier, GPUs were mainly known for gaming and graphics. Today, they are also central to AI because they help train and run large models faster.

Agrani is trying to build both the hardware and software side. This matters because a powerful chip alone is not enough. Developers and companies also need software tools that help them use that chip easily in data centres.

For example, if an enterprise wants to run AI tools for customer support, fraud detection, coding, image search or language models, it needs strong compute infrastructure. Agrani wants to serve that kind of market.

Founder and founding year

Agrani Labs was founded in 2024 by Dheemanth Nagaraj, Ashok Jagannathan, Srikanth Nimmagadda and Rajesh Vivekanandham.

The founding team has experience at global chip companies such as Intel and AMD. Reports say the team brings deep semiconductor experience, which is important because chip design is a long and difficult business.

Agrani Labs came out of stealth in January 2026 after raising an $8 million seed round led by Peak XV Partners.

Why Agrani Labs is looking for funding

Semiconductor startups need large amounts of capital because chip design is expensive. A company has to hire highly specialized engineers, build architecture, test designs, develop software, work with fabrication partners and go through multiple product cycles before commercial scale.

The reported $50 million round may help Agrani Labs expand research and development, grow its engineering team, improve its GPU design and build the software tools needed for customers.

Moneycontrol reported that Peak XV may invest around $15 million as part of the round, while new investors such as 360 ONE may also join. The same report said Agrani Labs could be valued at around $160 million to $200 million during the ongoing talks.

Why this startup matters

AI compute is currently dominated by a small number of global companies. This creates high costs and supply pressure for businesses that need chips for AI workloads.

If an Indian-origin semiconductor startup can build competitive AI compute products, it can support India’s larger technology ambitions. It can also help local enterprises, cloud providers and data centre companies reduce dependence on imported AI hardware over time.

This will not happen overnight. Chip companies take years to mature. But Agrani Labs is entering the market at a time when India is pushing harder on semiconductors through policy support, design incentives and manufacturing interest.

Competitors and market space

Agrani Labs will face tough competition from global giants such as Nvidia, AMD and Intel. These companies already have strong chips, mature software ecosystems and deep customer relationships.

In India, the broader semiconductor and chip-design space includes startups such as Mindgrove Technologies, InCore Semiconductors, Morphing Machines, Calligo Technologies and Netrasemi. Their exact products differ, but all are part of India’s growing chip ecosystem.

Agrani’s main challenge will be execution. Building a GPU is hard. Building a GPU that companies trust for AI workloads is even harder.

Conclusion – Key takeaways

Agrani Labs’ reported $50 million funding talks show how serious India’s AI chip opportunity is becoming.

The startup is building high-performance GPUs and software for enterprise and data centre AI workloads. The funding, if closed, can help Agrani scale R&D, hire talent and move closer to product readiness.

For India, companies like Agrani are important because the next stage of AI growth will depend not only on apps, but also on the chips and systems powering them.
