As we discussed in earlier article about the launch of iPhone Duo, Apple has now opened pre-orders for the iPhone Duo in India, marking the company’s entry into foldable smartphones. The new device combines a large tablet-like inner display with a smaller outer screen for regular phone use.

The iPhone Duo starts at Rs. 2,99,900 in India. It is aimed at buyers who want a premium iPhone that can handle entertainment, work, gaming, reading, and multitasking on a larger screen without carrying a separate tablet.

Pre-orders opened at 5.30 p.m. IST on October 16 through Apple’s India website and Apple Store app. The phone will be available from October 23, 2026.

iPhone Duo price and offers in India

The iPhone Duo begins at Rs. 2,99,900 for the 256GB model. It will also be available in 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB storage options.

Apple is offering up to Rs. 7,000 instant cashback on selected iPhone models when customers use eligible cards. It also provides up to six months of no-cost EMI, subject to the terms of participating banks and card issuers.

The Apple Trade In programme can offer credit from Rs. 17,500 to Rs. 81,500 toward an iPhone Duo or an iPhone 18 Pro. The final exchange value will depend on the iPhone model, its condition, and whether it qualifies for Apple’s trade-in programme as per Apple India Store.

The big feature – a 7.6-inch folding display

When opened, the iPhone Duo has a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR OLED folding display. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes scrolling, gaming, and animations feel smoother.

The outer display measures 5.4 inches. This lets users take calls, reply to messages, use maps, check notifications, and operate the phone without opening it every time.

Apple says the inner display has a nano-texture finish to reduce reflections. Both displays support HDR, Always-On mode, Dynamic Island, and up to 3,000 nits of peak outdoor brightness.

The foldable screen is useful for watching movies, editing photos, reading documents, playing games, or working with two apps side by side. For example, a user can keep Mail open on one side and Notes or Safari on the other.

A20 Pro chip and Apple Intelligence

The iPhone Duo runs on Apple’s A20 Pro chip. It has a six-core CPU, seven-core GPU, and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine designed for AI-related tasks.

The phone supports Apple Intelligence and Siri AI features. These tools are designed to help users work with text, images, reminders, and information across apps while keeping privacy protections in focus.

The larger inner screen also makes Siri AI more useful during multitasking. A user can keep an app open on one side while asking Siri for help with information shown on screen.

Camera, battery and connectivity

The iPhone Duo has a 48MP Dual Fusion rear camera system. It includes a 48MP main camera and a 48MP ultra-wide camera. The main camera also offers a 2x optical-quality telephoto option.

For video calls and selfies, there is a 12MP Center Stage outer camera and an under-display FaceTime camera inside.

Apple says the foldable iPhone uses two built-in lithium-ion batteries. It offers up to 31 hours of video playback on the inner screen or up to 44 hours on the outer display. With a 60W or higher USB-C adapter, Apple claims it can reach 50 percent charge in around 20 minutes.

The phone supports 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, USB-C, MagSafe charging, and Qi2 wireless charging. It is eSIM-only, so buyers will not get a physical SIM-card slot.

How iPhone Duo compares with rivals

The iPhone Duo will compete with foldable phones such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series and Google Pixel Fold models. Its main advantage for existing Apple users is deep integration with iOS, iCloud, FaceTime, Apple Intelligence, and other Apple devices.

However, its high starting price means it will remain a niche premium device. Buyers who mainly use their phone for calls, social media, and casual photos may find a standard iPhone more practical.

Apple is holding its “Welcome Home” event today, October 13, in New York. The company has not revealed every product in advance, but the event is expected to focus on smart home technology.

The main attraction could be Apple’s first dedicated smart home hub. The device is expected to combine features of an iPad, HomePod and smart home control panel. Apple may also introduce an updated HomePod mini and a new Apple TV model as per the reports in MacRumors.

What Apple’s smart home hub could offer

The rumoured device is expected to include a small touchscreen display and support for Siri. It could allow users to control lights, cameras, locks, thermostats and other compatible accessories from one place.

The hub may also be used for video calls, music, weather updates, calendar reminders, photo viewing and news. A product like this would be useful in shared spaces because family members could access different information through a single screen.

Reports suggest Apple is considering more than one design. One version could be mounted on a wall, while another may include a speaker base. The display could change depending on who is using it or how far the person is standing from the device. These details are still based on reports and should be treated as expectations until Apple confirms them if believed Tom’s Guide report.

Smarter Siri could be the real focus

The success of the new hub may depend heavily on Siri. Apple is expected to use a more capable version of its voice assistant to understand natural requests and control several devices together.

For example, a user might say, “Turn off the lights, lock the main door and play relaxing music.” A smarter Siri could complete these actions as one request instead of requiring separate commands.

This would place Apple in direct competition with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant-powered smart displays. Apple’s advantage would be its tight connection with the iPhone, Apple Watch, HomePod, Apple TV and other products.

HomePod mini and Apple TV updates

Apple may also refresh the HomePod mini with improved audio, newer processing hardware and better Siri integration. A new Apple TV could bring faster performance and deeper connections with the Apple Home platform.

The company could also use the event to show how smart home security, entertainment and personal information can work together. However, reports about a video doorbell, smart lock or thermostat remain unconfirmed as per Business Standard.

Why this event matters

Apple has sold smart speakers and Apple TV devices for years, but it has not yet built a central home-control product like Google Nest Hub or Amazon Echo Show. A dedicated hub could give the company a stronger position in the growing smart home market.

The bigger importance lies in Apple’s ecosystem strategy. If the new device works smoothly with iPhones, services and home accessories, it could become the main control centre for Apple users.

Conclusion with key takeaways

Apple’s Welcome Home event could introduce its first smart home hub, along with updated HomePod mini and Apple TV products. The hub may offer touchscreen controls, voice-based assistance, entertainment and smart home management.

The product names, prices, specifications and India availability will be known only after Apple’s official announcement. Until then, buyers should treat the reported details as expectations rather than confirmed specifications.

As discussed earlier, Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are now on sale in India from today, September 18, 2026. The phones were opened for pre-orders on September 12 and are available through Apple’s online store, Apple retail stores and authorised sellers.

The Pro models are aimed at buyers who want Apple’s best camera, strongest chip and longest battery life. This year, the biggest upgrades are the new 48MP variable aperture main camera, A20 Pro chip, redesigned Dynamic Island, Siri AI and improved battery life.

iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max price in India

The iPhone 18 Pro starts at Rs.1,64,900 for the 256GB model. The 512GB variant is priced at Rs.1,89,900, the 1TB model costs Rs.2,39,900, and the top 2TB variant is priced at Rs.3,14,900.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at Rs.1,79,900 for the 256GB model. Its 512GB variant costs Rs.2,04,900, the 1TB model is priced at Rs.2,54,900, and the 2TB variant costs Rs.3,29,900.

Both phones come in four colours – Black, Silver, Glacier and Burgundy.

iPhone 18 Pro Exclusive features

The biggest Pro-only highlight is the new 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture. In simple words, the camera can adjust how much light enters the lens. This helps in low-light photos, portraits and videos where background blur matters.

Apple has also added Pro controls in the Camera app. Users can adjust settings like aperture, shutter speed, white balance and histogram. This is useful for creators who want more control instead of only using auto mode.

Both models also get all 48MP rear cameras, including the main, ultra-wide and telephoto cameras. The phones support up to 8x optical-quality zoom and offer a 16x total optical zoom range.

iPhone 18 Pro Max Exclusive features

The iPhone 18 Pro Max is not very different from the iPhone 18 Pro in core performance, camera system or software. Both get the A20 Pro chip, Siri AI, 48MP Pro camera system and iOS 27. But the Pro Max still has a few clear advantages.

The biggest difference is the larger 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR display. This makes the Pro Max better for watching movies, editing videos, reading, gaming and multitasking. If someone creates reels or edits photos on the phone itself, the larger screen will feel more comfortable.

The second major advantage is battery life. Apple says the iPhone 18 Pro Max offers up to 43 hours of video playback, making it the longest-lasting iPhone in the 2026 line-up. This is useful for travellers, content creators, gamers and heavy users who do not want to charge their phone often.

The Pro Max is also better for people who prefer a big-screen phone for work. For example, checking spreadsheets, editing documents, handling emails or attending video calls feels easier on the larger display.

In short, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is best for buyers who want the biggest screen, longest battery life and the most comfortable media experience. The iPhone 18 Pro is better for those who want the same Pro power in a smaller and lighter body.

Performance and AI

The iPhone 18 Pro series runs on Apple’s A20 Pro chip. Apple says it brings stronger graphics performance, better sustained speed and more power for on-device AI tasks.

The phones also run iOS 27 with Apple Intelligence and Siri AI. Siri AI can understand personal context better, answer questions, help with writing and work with what is shown on the screen.

Battery and charging

Apple says the iPhone 18 Pro Max offers the best battery life ever on a Pro iPhone. The Pro Max can deliver up to 43 hours of video playback, while eSIM-only models in some countries offer even longer video playback.

Both models support faster wired charging. Apple says the phones can reach up to 50 percent charge in around 15 minutes with a compatible adapter.

Rivals in India

The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will compete with Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, Google Pixel 11 Pro, Vivo X300 Pro, Xiaomi 16 Ultra and OnePlus 14 Pro. Still, Apple’s biggest strength remains its camera-video quality, long software support, ecosystem and resale value.

As we discussed earlier, Apple has introduced the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and its first foldable phone, iPhone Duo, for the Indian market. The new lineup gives buyers three distinct choices, from a camera-focused Pro phone to a large-screen foldable designed for work and entertainment.

According to Apple, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will be available in India from September 18, while iPhone Duo will arrive later, on October 23.

What is new in iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max

The biggest change in the iPhone 18 Pro series is its new 48MP main camera with a variable aperture. In simple terms, the camera can adjust how much light enters the lens. This can help users take clearer photos in dim places and create more natural background blur in portraits.

For example, someone taking a food photo in a restaurant may get better control over the image without carrying a separate camera. Apple has also added updated Pro Controls for people who want more manual control while shooting photos and videos.

The new phones run on the A20 Pro chip and use an improved cooling system. That matters for users who edit videos, play heavy games, or use demanding apps for long periods. Apple has also made the Dynamic Island smaller and says the iPhone 18 Pro Max brings its biggest battery-life improvement yet.

The iPhone 18 Pro has a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max gets a larger 6.9-inch screen. Both models support a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and gaming.

iPhone Duo brings Apple into foldable phones

The iPhone Duo is Apple’s first foldable iPhone. It has a 5.4-inch outer display for normal phone tasks and a 7.6-inch inner screen that opens like a small tablet.

This larger display can be useful for reading documents, watching videos, replying to emails, or running two apps together. A user could keep a video call open on one side while checking notes or messages on the other.

Apple says the Duo uses a titanium body, a redesigned hinge and stronger Ceramic Shield protection. It also runs on the A20 Pro chip and supports Apple Pencil USB-C, although Pencil support will be added later.

There is one important difference for camera buyers. The iPhone Duo has a dual 48MP camera system, while the Pro models offer a more advanced camera setup with a dedicated telephoto lens. People who care most about zoom photography may find the iPhone 18 Pro or Pro Max a better fit.

Prices of these iPhone 18 models in India

According to Apple India, the starting prices are-

• iPhone 18 Pro – from Rs. 1,64,900
• iPhone 18 Pro Max – from Rs. 1,64,900 for the Pro range shown on Apple’s comparison page
• iPhone Duo – from Rs. 2,99,900 for the 256GB model

iPhone Duo storage prices:

• 256GB – Rs. 2,99,900
• 512GB – Rs. 3,24,900
• 1TB – Rs. 3,74,900
• 2TB – Rs. 4,49,900

Apple’s individual iPhone 18 Pro purchase page currently lists the 256GB version at Rs. 1,79,900, so check the selected storage and model carefully before purchasing any of the model in a final price table given by Apple or marketplace you are buying it from at the time of availability.

How it compares with earlier iPhones and rivals

Compared with the iPhone 17 Pro generation, the variable-aperture camera is the most noticeable upgrade in the iPhone 18 Pro models. The faster chip, cooling changes and display refinements also make the new phones more suited to heavy daily use.

The iPhone Duo does not have an older foldable iPhone predecessor because it is Apple’s first device in this category. Its closest competition comes from book-style foldables made by Samsung and Google. Apple’s main advantage may be the familiar iOS experience and how the device works with other Apple products.

Availability in India

As per Apple’s official announcement, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max pre-orders open on September 12, with availability beginning September 18. The iPhone Duo will be available for pre-order from October 16 and will reach customers from October 23.

Key takeaways –

Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro range focuses on camera control, performance and battery improvements. The iPhone Duo opens a completely new foldable chapter for Apple, aimed at people who want a phone that can also handle tablet-style tasks. Buyers should choose the Pro models for advanced photography, while the Duo may appeal more to multitaskers and large-screen users.

Apple has not officially cut the India sticker price of the iPhone 17 family, but the real checkout price is clearly softer now. That is the part buyers care about most. As Apple’s next Pro launch is close, retailers and carriers are making the current iPhone 17 lineup look more tempting through bank offers, exchange deals, and cashback.

In simple words, this is not a straight price cut from Apple. It is a deal season. And for people who were waiting for a better entry point into the iPhone world, it has opened a useful window.

What the iPhone 17 family costs now

Here is the quick model-by-model picture in India, but you need to check the deal price if this exists when you read the article.

• iPhone 17 – official starting price is Rs. 82,900, but one recent Flipkart deal brought the effective price down to Rs. 47,405 with exchange and bank offers.
• iPhone 17e – official starting price is Rs. 64,900, with Flipkart listing it around Rs. 60,467 after offers and Amazon showing a deal near Rs. 62,490.
• iPhone Air – official starting price is Rs. 1,19,900, while Flipkart has shown an effective price of Rs. 95,900 on select offers.
• iPhone 17 Pro – official starting price is Rs. 1,34,900, with Flipkart showing a buy price of Rs. 1,25,900 after offers.
• iPhone 17 Pro Max – official starting price is Rs. 1,49,900, with Flipkart showing an effective price of Rs. 1,40,900.

The pattern is easy to spot. The larger the model, the more the absolute savings can look impressive. But the best real-value deal is not always the biggest phone. Sometimes it is the one with the cleanest balance of price, battery life, and features.

Why the discounts are appearing now

There are two simple reasons.

First, Apple’s own store is still selling the phones at standard pricing, but it is adding value through trade-in and EMI. Apple India currently says buyers can get up to Rs. 57,000 in trade-in credit on select iPhone models, along with no-cost EMI and cashback offers.

Second, retailers do not like sitting on expensive stock when the next iPhone cycle is near. Reports from recent tech coverage say Apple’s next Pro launch is approaching, and that usually pushes sellers to move current models a little faster.

For a normal buyer, this is actually helpful. If you were planning to upgrade from an older iPhone or switch from Android, you are more likely to find a better final price now than you were a few weeks ago.

Which model makes sense

If you want the most practical choice, the iPhone 17 is the safest pick. It gives you the modern iPhone experience without stretching your budget too hard.

If you want the cheapest way into the new family, the iPhone 17e is the one to watch. It keeps the entry point lower and still gives you current-generation hardware.

If you care about a lighter premium phone, the iPhone Air stands out. And if camera quality, performance, and resale value matter most, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max remain the headline options.

Who it is up against

The main competition still comes from Samsung’s Galaxy S26 lineup and Google’s Pixel 11 series. Those phones also get festival offers and bank discounts, but Apple usually keeps a strong edge on resale value and long software support. That is why many people still treat an iPhone deal as a long-term buy, not just a festive impulse purchase.

Conclusion

The real story here is simple. iPhone 17 prices are not officially slashed on Apple’s own store, but effective market prices are lower right now. That gives buyers a short but useful chance to save before Apple’s next premium launch cycle changes the mood again.

If you have been waiting for the right time to buy, the smart move is to compare the final checkout price, not just the sticker price. That is where the real savings are hiding.

Key takeaways –

• Apple India has not officially reduced iPhone 17 sticker prices.
• Effective prices are lower thanks to exchange offers, cashback, and bank deals.
• iPhone 17, 17e, Air, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max all have visible discounts right now.
• Apple Trade In and no-cost EMI can reduce the final bill further.
• The current deal window may not last long if the next iPhone Pro launch lands soon.

Facts Input- Apple India, Apple iPhone 17, Apple iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max newsroom release, Flipkart iPhone 17 deal page

Apple’s next big launch event is set for September 9, 2026, and the iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to be one of the main products on stage. Apple has not confirmed the phone’s name or specifications yet, but leaks and reports have already given a fair idea of what buyers may see.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to be Apple’s most premium regular iPhone this year. It may bring a better processor, improved cameras, a slightly refined design, new colours and longer battery life. For Indian buyers, the big question will be simple: will the upgrades justify another very high price?

What Apple has confirmed

Apple has officially scheduled its “Surprise and shine” event for September 9 at 10 AM PT, which is 10:30 PM IST in India. The event will stream on Apple’s website, Apple TV and YouTube.

Apple has not yet confirmed the iPhone 18 Pro Max, its price, colours or features. So, all product details below should be treated as expected or rumoured until the keynote.

Expected price in India

The iPhone 18 Pro Max price in India is expected to start somewhere around Rs. 1,49,900 to Rs. 1,64,900. Some newer reports suggest the base variant may sit closer to Rs. 1,54,900 or Rs. 1,59,900.

The final price will depend on storage, taxes and Apple’s India pricing strategy. Like recent Pro Max models, buyers can expect higher prices for 512GB and 1TB versions.

Design changes

The iPhone 18 Pro Max is not expected to look completely new, but small changes may make it feel more polished.

Reports suggest Apple may reduce the size of the Dynamic Island, giving users slightly more usable screen area. The phone may also keep a premium titanium frame, slim bezels and a matte glass back.

Some leaks also point to a thicker body and a larger camera area. That may not sound exciting, but it could help Apple fit a bigger battery and upgraded camera hardware.

Camera upgrades

The biggest camera rumour is a variable aperture main camera. In simple words, aperture controls how much light enters the camera lens. If Apple adds this feature, the iPhone could handle bright and low-light scenes better and give users more natural background blur in portraits.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max is also expected to continue with a triple-camera system. Reports mention upgraded sensors, better zoom, improved low-light photos and smarter image processing with Apple Intelligence.

For example, someone shooting a night street scene, a family event indoors or a travel video may get cleaner detail and better colour balance if these upgrades arrive.

Performance and battery

The phone is expected to use Apple’s A20 Pro chip, reportedly based on a 2nm process. That should improve speed, battery efficiency and on-device AI tasks.

A bigger battery is also rumoured. This could make the Pro Max more useful for heavy users who record videos, use maps, edit photos, play games or travel often.

Expected colours

Leaked colour options include Dark Cherry, Light Blue, Dark Grey and Silver. Other reports mention Black Titanium, Natural Titanium and a new deep blue finish. Apple’s final colour names may be different, as the company often uses its own branding.

Competitors

The iPhone 18 Pro Max will mainly compete with the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, Google Pixel 11 Pro XL, Vivo X Fold series, Xiaomi Ultra models and other premium Android flagships.

Its strength will likely be video recording, long software support, ecosystem features and resale value. Android rivals may offer faster charging, more zoom hardware or lower starting prices.

Conclusion – Key takeaways

The iPhone 18 Pro Max looks like a refinement rather than a full redesign. Expected upgrades include the A20 Pro chip, improved cameras, possible variable aperture, new colours and better battery life.

For Indian buyers, the final price will matter a lot. If Apple starts near Rs. 1.5 lakh, this phone will mainly appeal to users who want the best iPhone experience and plan to keep it for several years.
