Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Launched In India With 50MP Periscope Camera, 6500mAh Battery And AI Features

As reported earlier, Motorola has launched the Edge 70 Pro+ in India, and this phone is clearly aimed at buyers who want a premium experience without crossing into ultra-flagship pricing. The device brings a big display, a strong camera setup, AI features, a large silicon-carbon battery, wireless charging and a slim design.

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ price in India is Rs. 47,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. With launch offers, the effective price starts at Rs. 44,999. Sales will begin on June 11, 2026, through Flipkart, Motorola.in and major retail stores.

Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ design and display

The Edge 70 Pro+ follows Motorola’s recent design language with curved edges, Pantone-backed colours and textured finishes. It comes in Pantone Zinfandel, Pantone Chicory Coffee and Pantone Stormy Sea. These finishes are not just plain colours. Motorola is using satin, wood-inspired and twill-inspired textures to make the phone feel more premium in hand.

The phone has a slim body, measuring around 7.19mm to 7.34mm depending on the finish, and weighs 190g. That is quite impressive considering the large battery inside.

On the front, the phone gets a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED display with Super HD resolution of 2772 x 1272 pixels. It supports up to 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, 10-bit colours, 100 percent DCI-P3 colour coverage and 5200 nits peak brightness. In simple words, this screen should feel smooth for scrolling and gaming, while also staying bright outdoors.

The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and also supports Water Touch, which should help when fingers are slightly wet. It also gets Pantone Validated colour and Pantone SkinTone Validation, which means Motorola is focusing on more natural colour reproduction.

Camera setup

The biggest highlight of the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ is the camera system. The phone has a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 main camera with optical image stabilization. OIS helps reduce blur in low light and while recording videos. For users who take photos at night, in cafes, during travel or at events, this should be one of the most useful upgrades.

There is also a 50MP ultra-wide camera with macro support. This means the same sensor can be used for wide landscape shots and close-up photos of food, flowers, gadgets or small objects.

The third important camera is the 50MP periscope telephoto lens. It supports 3.5x optical zoom and up to 50x Super Zoom Pro. This is a major reason why the Pro+ model feels different from many phones in this price range. A periscope lens helps users take clearer zoom shots without relying only on digital cropping.

For selfies, Motorola has added a 50MP front camera with autofocus. Video recording goes up to 4K HDR10+ at 60fps across cameras, which is useful for creators who shoot reels, travel clips and vlog-style videos.

Performance and software

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme chipset. This is paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.1 storage.

For regular users, this means the phone should handle multitasking, social media, video editing, gaming and everyday app switching easily. Motorola also says the phone includes a 4600mm² vapour chamber cooling system, which should help during longer gaming or heavy camera use.

The phone runs Hello UI based on Android 16. Motorola is promising 3 years of OS upgrades and 5 years of security maintenance releases. That is a decent promise, though some competitors now offer longer software support in the premium segment.

Moto AI 2.0 is also part of the package. It includes features like contextual suggestions, AI Image Studio, AI Playlist Studio, Recall, Catch Me Up, Pay Attention and support for assistants such as Gemini, Copilot and Perplexity. These tools are aimed at users who want quick summaries, creative edits and smarter phone interactions.

Battery and charging

The Edge 70 Pro+ packs a 6500mAh silicon-carbon battery. This is larger than what many slim premium phones offer. Motorola claims up to 51 hours of battery life, though real-world backup will depend on gaming, brightness, network strength, camera use and refresh rate settings. For most users, this should comfortably be a full-day phone and may stretch further with moderate use.

Charging support includes 90W TurboPower wired charging and 15W wireless charging. It also supports reverse charging, which can be useful for small accessories.

Durability and connectivity

Motorola has added IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. The phone also carries MIL-STD-810H certification, which suggests it has been tested against conditions like drops, shocks, humidity and temperature changes. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and USB Type-C. One thing to note is that the USB port is listed as USB 2.0, which may disappoint users who transfer large files through cable.

Competitors

At around Rs. 45,000 to Rs. 48,000, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ will compete with phones from OnePlus, iQOO, Vivo, Xiaomi, Samsung and Realme. Its closest competition may include performance-focused phones with Snapdragon 8-series chips, camera-focused Vivo and Xiaomi models, and Samsung’s premium mid-range Galaxy devices. Motorola’s advantage is the combination of slim design, large battery, periscope camera, clean software feel and IP68/IP69 durability.

However, buyers who want the absolute fastest processor may compare it carefully with gaming-first rivals. Those who care about long software updates may also look at Samsung and Google alternatives.

Conclusion with key takeaways

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ looks like a strong premium mid-range phone for users who want camera flexibility, long battery life, a bright display and stylish design. The 50MP periscope camera, 6500mAh battery, 144Hz AMOLED screen and Android 16 software make it a serious option under Rs. 50,000.
