India’s startup funding market continues to support businesses across very different sectors. Recent funding announcements involving Lumio, NeoGrowth, Gramiyaa and TailBlaze Longevity show how capital is being used for consumer products, small-business finance, food brands and pet health.

Here is a simple look at what each startup does, why investors backed it and how the new money may help.

Lumio – Building a new-age home electronics brand

Consumer electronics company Lumio has raised $12 million in a Series A round led by Blume Ventures. Existing investors Stellaris Venture Partners and 3one4 Capital also participated.

Lumio operates through Circuit House Technologies and sells Vision smart TVs, Arc projectors and Aura speakers. The company was founded by Raghu Reddy and Kailash Sankaranarayanan.

The startup plans to use the funding mainly for research and development. It wants to improve its existing products, enter more home-device categories and expand its television, projector and speaker range.

Lumio is also working on software features such as AI-based content discovery. Its TLDR and Project Neo services are being tested in nine Indian languages. The company also plans to create selected retail outlets where customers can experience its products before buying.

Another focus area is after-sales service. Lumio currently works with more than 300 service centres and plans to strengthen its support network further. Its challenge will be to compete with established names such as Samsung, LG, Sony, Xiaomi and TCL while building trust as a newer brand.

NeoGrowth – Making loans easier for small businesses

NeoGrowth has raised around $8.8 million, or approximately Rs. 85 crore, from existing investors FMO and LeapFrog Investments.

Founded in 2012 by Dhruv Khaitan and Piyush Khaitan, NeoGrowth provides loans to micro, small and medium-sized businesses. Its customers include retailers and other small enterprises that may not have large assets, formal financial records or traditional collateral.

The fresh funding is expected to support loan-book growth, digital lending and market expansion. NeoGrowth also uses data from digital payments and point-of-sale transactions to understand a business’s cash flow. This can help the lender assess borrowers who may be overlooked by conventional banks.

For example, a small shop with regular digital sales may be able to receive working capital even if it does not own property to offer as security. The company also uses technology for loan monitoring, risk management and repayment collection.

NeoGrowth competes with other digital lenders and fintech platforms serving Indian MSMEs. Its main difference is its focus on small merchants and cash-flow-based lending.

Gramiyaa – Taking traditional oils to more households

Bengaluru-based Gramiyaa has raised $1.93 million, nearly Rs. 18.65 crore, in a Series A round led by Optiscape Network Holdings. Homegrown Ventures, Campus Fund and other investors also participated.

Founded in 2016, Gramiyaa is known for cold-pressed cooking oils made from ingredients such as groundnut, coconut, sesame and mustard. Sibi Manivannan is among the company’s founders.

The funding will provide growth capital and support general corporate needs. In practical terms, the money can help the brand expand distribution, improve operations and reach more customers through online grocery platforms, marketplaces and its own website.

Gramiyaa operates in a crowded health-focused food market. Its competitors include Anveshan, Conscious Food, IndicWisdom and other premium edible-oil brands. Its traditional extraction process and focus on direct consumer sales are central to its identity.

TailBlaze Longevity – Focusing on healthier, longer lives for dogs

Ahmedabad-based TailBlaze Longevity has raised $300,000 in a pre-seed round led by US-based Comma Capital.

The startup works in pet nutrition, with a specific focus on canine longevity. Its aim is to develop high-protein and lower-carbohydrate food products that may support better health and help dogs live longer.

The company has not publicly disclosed its founders, founding year or a detailed breakdown of how the funding will be spent. At this early stage, the capital may support product development, testing and initial market expansion, but this is an inference rather than a confirmed company statement.

TailBlaze will compete with established pet-food brands such as Royal Canin, Drools and Farmina. Its longevity-focused approach could help it stand apart if it can show clear product benefits and earn the confidence of pet parents.

Conclusion with key takeaways

These four funding rounds support very different startup goals. Lumio wants to build a stronger consumer electronics brand, NeoGrowth aims to widen credit access for small businesses, Gramiyaa is scaling a health-focused food company and TailBlaze is exploring specialized pet nutrition.

The larger lesson is that investors are backing companies that solve everyday problems through focused products, technology and better distribution.
