Online MicroBlogging Site Twitter Appointed Parag Agrawal As CTO
Online microblogging site, Twitter Inc., has appointed Parag Agrawal as chief technology officer (CTO) on Thursday, according to an update on the social media company’s website.
Parag Agrawal an IIT Mumbai alumni, who joined micro-blogging site in 2011 as an Ads Engineer, succeeds Adam Messinger who left in December 2016, the company said.
Parag Agrawal earlier worked at Microsoft and AT&T prior to joining Twitter, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Chief operating officer Anthony Noto resigned last month in a string of departures, to join online lender Social Finance (SoFi) as CEO.
He most recently held the title of distinguished software engineer. At Twitter his contributions include leading efforts to increase the relevance of tweets in Twitter users’ timelines using artificial intelligence. But AI also comes in handy for things Twitter does behind the scenes, like preventing abuse on the social network.
Jack Patrick Dorsey is an American computer programmer and Internet entrepreneur who is co-founder and CEO of Twitter, and founder and CEO of Square, a mobile payments company.
