Online Fashion Marketplace Voonik Acquired Three Startups For Its Premium Fashion Product Vilara

Online Fashion Marketplace, Voonik, has acquired three startups to build its premium fashion product Vilara. Sequoia Capital backed Voonik has now acquired a total of five startups in the past six months.

The latest acquisition will surely establish Voonik’s leadership in the fashion segment. Voonik is a fashion marketplace for women, with a focus on personalization.

The companies that have been acquired by Voonik are-

  • Online marketplace for designers and boutiques – Zohraa
  • Online silk store –
  • Stylists & Salons Platform – Styl

Online Fashion Marketplace Voonik was co-founded 2013 by Sujayath Ali and Navaneetha Krishnan.

Last year, Voonik acqui-hired TrialKart to provide virtual dressing room experience to its users. A month back, the company acqui-hired Getsy, a curator of personalized fashion for men.

This development happened when Voonik, was set to expand into men’s fashion and entered the men’s segment with its app Mr Voonik. The company also roped in four people from the ten-member team from online apparel rental startup Klozee, which shut down operations in January this year.

Voonik raised USD $5 million last year, from Sequoia Capital and SeedFund. The venture claims to have achieved a USD $100-million run rate and is aiming to grow four-fold in GMV by the end of this fiscal.

Voonik offers multiple stores on a single platform and lets consumers shop in a single checkout. Besides a web version, it also offers an app where users can mix and match from styles and stock keeping units across other fashion e-tailers such as Jabong, Fashionara and Zovi.

A leading online financial platform Lendingkart announced partnership with women’s fashion marketplace Voonik to help sellers on the platform avail easy and collateral-free short-term loans.
