Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group, has invested an undisclosed amount of his private capacity in Digital Storytelling Platform for women, SheThePeople.TV.
The raised capital will be used by the startup for expansion and launch in regional languages.
Digital Storytelling Platform SheThePeople.TV was founded by journalist Shaili Chopra.
The video platform is building a much-needed digital media space and ecosystem for women achievers. The venture claims to be dedicated to championing and promoting women success stories by way of a video story telling space that inspires women, strengthens their efforts, exchanges leadership ideas, fosters networking and reinforces their ability to contribute to growth.
On this investment Anand Mahindra said, “Women need a space that quenches their intellectual hunger, engages and empowers them with relatable content. With Shaili as founder, possessing a solid understanding of both conventional and digital media over 15 years, I have great confidence that SheThePeople.TV will become a focal point of inspiration for tomorrow’s women leaders,..The funds will help SheThePeople.TV with its future expansion plans as it launches new initiatives including forums, events and regional languages,”
SheThePeople.TV, has profiled stories of nearly 10,000 inspiring women till date. The women featured include, entrepreneurs, authors, game-changers, sportswomen, corporate executives among others. The stories are currently offered in English and Hindi languages and driven primarily by video content. The venture was also has an official partner for the Union government’s prime program for entrepreneurs “Start-Up India , Stand Up India” in January this year and for the start-up initiative at “Make in India” Week in February.
SheThePeople is Women’s platform. A video story telling space that inspires them, strengthens their efforts, exchanges leadership ideas, fosters networking and reinforces their ability to contribute to growth.

- 53% of Twitter users are women
Mahindra has also invested in Local Circles (Citizen Engagement platform), DishCo( a mobile only food marketplace app) last year.
